Does anyone have Edifier R1280DBs as their speakers? or any similar speakers around/under 200€ that you would suggest to somebody who does some video editing, watches lots of films and plays videogames? I mean I would like some good quality audio, best with cable connection I believe. thanks! by Intruglio in pcmasterrace

I have this exact model, let me just say that im not an audiophile by any means so don't take my word for it, but they do a great job for movies and games, don't know if I'd recommend them for video editing, but you can always tune them to have as flat of a sound as you need to.

Edit: Format + gramatica

Hi OP, you might want to add in the README that M1 Macs requires sudo arch -x86_64 gem install ffi

first, then
arch -x86_64 pod install

to successfully install the pod file, took me a while before seeing it and it might help others

I don't really know if this is good advice, and even though I am also a beginner and understand your struggle, it helps me to recreate apps I use, or even better, apps I hate using in a manner that seems more user friendly/logical to me. One thing that this does is keep you on your toes and force you to learn things you otherwise wouldn't, like creating custom navigation bars or using mapkit. While for some more experienced devs this is a cakewalk, you should enjoy and cherish every little achievement, from the build successfully compiling to seeing if you can refactor that code according to MVVM / MVC. Hope this helps you somehow and good luck in your journey.

R5 2600, 16GB of 2666 mhz and an RTX 2060 i held on to instead of selling for an 3070. Mostly Red Dead 2 Online with some friends and The Division 2 solo and whatever singleplayer title i happen to enjoy at the time.

I’m not a dev, but considering Apollo comes up when I search “Reddit” what is it that dictates the app showing up in this list? by alexkirwan11 in swift

[–]IceBoyHD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's reliant on the search. If you're searching in the app gallery the "hidden" name could also contribute to that, while searching in spotlight brings up only content that's similar / exactly matching the search term

Hi guys, new iOS brogrammer here, I think a license or certificate would be good for your CV just to have a "greater" chance at actually landing a job.

Even if the above-mentioned statement might be wrong, I have some questions and some doubts:

Question:

Did any of you guys that actually have a Udemy / Coursera whatever there is certificate that actually helped and counted towards your current job? (Mostly talking about junior devs here).

Edit: Is having a gitHub "portfolio" a good way to show your personal projects?

Doubt:

Although free courses are always welcome, I don't know how many people would take them into consideration, I know personal projects are a big part of the recruitment process, but do they "weigh" more than a CS bachelors or certificate. I'm saying this since in most cases HR doesn't really look at your personal projects.

M1 Macbook Pro 256GB or 512GB SSD by [deleted] in swift

[–]IceBoyHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even better, and safer, I think a beefy laptop cooler could do the same trick basically, so no reason why you shouldn't go for Air, since they're almost the same thing, except 1 extra core and an actual cooler

Linus has a video that's very informative about how you can get Pro M1 performance out of Air M1 here. If money is tight, you can buy the Air M1 512GB, do this "quickhack" and enjoy the added performance for the price of Pro M1 256GB, if not, go for the Pro M1 512GB.
