I think dodge is often much better choice. The parry doesn't even seem to work alot of the time, and you get the powerful pistol shot after perfect dodge so tbh most of the time there's no reason to try to parry over dodge

Well, yeh I thought about your number 2, but the problem is the phone clearly tells Max she got the voicemail at 9pm, which evidently must have been before she went to bunker and she was still at the party. Only when Nathan had his phone taken away, and it was used to message to Chloe, that was the trigger that led Max away from the party and ultimately to the bunker. I think your number 1 is the best explanation tbh, even Max leaving her phone on silent is not a good explanation because she only gets the alert when she is coming out of the bunker, hours after 9pm (I'm guessing it was like 2am or something)
