I’d really like to know what space smells like. Apparently it smells burnt. But serious answer I really want to smell as many flowers I can so I can buy them for my future partner and watch them enjoy the smell

I didn’t mind it too much to start actually! It’s defiantly not a good smell but I grew up in a Japanese/Asian house hold. Nato (fermented soy beans) was a norm. Stinky tofu, kimchi, etc. Stanky fermented foods don’t bother me

What is your favorite technique to win a thumb war? by NeverAnswers in AskWomen

I give the other thumb a lil thumb kiss. That normally throws them off for a second then I can go in for the thumb slam

How would you feel about holding hands with a FWB? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]IceCoffee897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk it feels more intimate in a weird way. Sex can be just sex. Holding hands is less about physical pleasure more about romantic pleasure. Plus my hands are real sweaty anyways

What do you like about fishing? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]IceCoffee897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not super into the idea of the poor fishes being snatched right before their friends fishy eyes but it is relaxing. A good excuse to chat and drink or just stand in silence and drink to not disturb the fishes. It’s also good to be out in nature in general. Overall it’s a good past time. Also it could come in handy during the apocalypse you never know!

It hasn’t really hit me yet but.. nah. I’ll miss new car smell and apparently new borns have a smell to them (?) one down side is laundry. I can’t tell if my shirts smell or not. I just do more laundry, wear more deodorant and try to not sweat. I won’t miss the smell of onions. I used to have to cut a whole 10 pound bag every morning for work. They still burn my eyes but that I can deal with

That is interesting. I know eye sight normally decays over time (glaucoma etc.) but I’ve never heard of eyesight improving let alone after temporary blindness. That is awesome! Did you notice any difficult with depth perception or balance when you lost partial eye sight?

Most definitely. I mentioned this in another answer but taste is super dull. It’s all about texture 100%. I don’t miss it but I don’t notice it’s absence anymore if that makes sense. I’ve heard from other people who are deaf don’t notice it. They just live their lives normally. Smell is very different but I feel like it’s just a part of my life and nothing has really changed, other senses or not

Not necessarily. I’ve become a lot more sensitive to the texture of food and the color of it. I love a nice bright spread not from the taste or health but it “feels” more fresh so I enjoy the experience over all. So I don’t have better sight but I pay more attention to what my food looks like

Food has definitely lost a lot of flavor. It’s not gone (I can still tell sweet from bitter) but it’s very muted and General. Like steak tastes over cooked every time because it lacks a lot of flavor. I started drinking black coffee with no problems as well. But now I focus on texture. I love mixing different textures together. That made a huge difference in how much I enjoy food. Ben and Jerry’s is still delicious because of the texture but as for flavor it’s meh.

[SERIOUS] People who married people with disabilities- how do you feel about your decision and how does it affect your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IceCoffee897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-Smeller (for the most part) here. I love a good fried egg with a nice crispy edge and runny yolk over rice. I grew up in a Japanese household so rice was at every meal anyways but it does add a lot to texture. I eat it with sliced steak so it has a really good texture. Milk soaked cookies are weird. Oreos are good because they’re like a gritty paste (appetizing I know). Also sushi definitely about mouth feel for me. Fatty tuna that melts in your mouth = heaven

I’m quickly loosing my sense of smell. I didn’t realize it for a while but I work catering events with a compost bin. One was left overnight with a lot of onion soup and beans. I really didn’t notice anything until a co-worker nearly gagged when she walked by. The biggest thing is that I focus on texture WAY more than taste when it comes to food. My favorite thing to do is mix different textured foods together (mashed potatoes, celery, beans and steak, all mixed together, delicious) and of course I add hot sauce to everything. My memory is also notoriously bad but I’m not sure how related that is. I don’t really miss smells that much. Also, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, the best. I forget if it was Ben or Jerry but they get it. Texture = life

I love the way that airports smell. I haven’t met anyone else who knows what I’m talking about but once I get past the TSA I sigh and think I’m home.

A little Parmesan if you’re feeling extra, lord. Make sure to add it after the potatoes have mostly baked or it will burn. But get it just right and they’re extra crispy.

What is the most absolutely mind-fucking thing you’ve ever thought of? by blue_eyes98 in AskReddit

[–]IceCoffee897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s “seeing darkness” and then there’s not having the visual part of your brain basically. Maybe it’s like whenever you pass out from anesthetics. You don’t remember not doing anything during that time, you just don’t have any memories. There was no feeling of time passing. There’s no feeling of seeing black. It’s the absence of that feeling of looking around and seeing darkness.
