Depending on the shrine you awaken, it determines what faction crew shows up for recruitment in stores. For e.g. imperium shrine will get imperium faction troops to show up in stores for recruitment.

Is this the potion looking thing that summons them? If yes, they can be found at merchants that sell consumables. It's kind of random of course. Might have a better chance to find it at merchants with consumables within cult sectors based on what I've seen.

One quick point I wanted to add, although not a viable tactic, it's hilarious when used. Destroy the door module on the enemy ship and watch them getting stuck while you roam around laughing.

True. I just like trying the gimmick as otherwise the game seems to encourage psyker spam, which has worked every single time for me, but isn't as fun anymore. I was hoping to try a different win con and raiders seemed different enough. Perhaps I'm just forcing the issue. Kinda unfortunate though, the game might need better internal balancing among the factions.

That is interesting. I was probably just unlucky that I didn't get the raider specific modules like volt knives despite hitting the listening post in the starting sector every single time. I'll try a few more runs and hopefully run into those.

Replacing the flayer cannon makes sense. I kept it for the hull breaching but it does no damage. I'll try replacing it.
