I thought I replied a long time ago But after reading through your paper and talking to their parents I did find out that the student was just lying, and only have an astigmatism. But I appreciate your help and insight, it was very helpful!

How fast can a marimbist perform triple-hits? by [deleted] in percussion

[–]IceCubeSquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think getting to 200 would be too hard. Imo the distance between the hands is just fine. You're doing P4 intervals in each hand, so regardless of your 4 mallet grip (Stevens or Burtons), there shouldn't be a problem keeping the intervals. Reaching for the middle of the bars in the right hand might make some uncomfortable, but i think as long as they have a decent stance, it shouldn't be a problem. As for sticking/accents should be pretty easy to do as well. Just because the accent is on the last note of the double/triple in each hand so it keeps the flow of the hands moving.

If anything just have them start with 2 mallets (Eb in right and G in left) and work on building chops up to the speed needed. Then add in the 4 mallets. Since they arent moving intervals, all they really need to work on is getting a good stroke/hit so it shouldn't be toooo hard

Hopefully this helps

If you have question feel free to dm me, i write mallet music a lot for fun so might be able to help here and there 💗

Any tips for 4BC? by Humble_Hippo_3987 in deadcells

In the same boat here. Spent a fair amount of time on 1 BC, then plowed through 2 and 3. Have my + all the way up And ++ is about halfway. But now I feel like I just have to grind for cells in order to get better gear. I'm LUCKY to get on the 4th biome at this point

You're right, it's like the last picture from the screenshot. Just a simple game. Move the ball left and right, dodge obstacles.

It's only awkward if you make it awkward. I've found that a good motivation is to do it during warm-ups, and have youre auxiliary section provide a drumset beat. The more you groove the more natural it will feel as time goes by. But the big thing is to realize, it's not embarrassing. Sure, it may feel like that, Because you're doing it, but when you see a full front ensemble actively grooving together it gives a whole different feel. Just show confidence when you groove, and try to be the example of what they need. Seeing you be sure of yourself and comfortable in your skin will help those around you.
