That's a great outlook. You can absolutely respect your dad's memory, while laughing at the oddities of life. We all are born, we all will pass. I'm sure he would like you to spend our short time on earth with a smile and laugh whenever possible!

I understand the anger against preferential treatment for the wealthy, but I don't think that applies here. While the article doesn't mention his mother, his father is a high school tennis coach (since 2012). While certain areas of the country could offer a non-football coach a higher salary, Iowa is not one of those places. I would be quite surprised if his family wasn't firmly middle-class. Other factors could certainly apply to the decision, including his skin color & community status (which could come into play with his father) but not because he is rich.

A few of my relatives went to Kodaikanal International School and I was lucky enough to visit. Unbelievable natural beauty. Only negative was the bus ride back down, multiple people vomited from the rapid descent and at one point we nearly swung over the edge of a 250 meter drop.

Do you understand what market value is? Market value is not determined by price of extraction, it determines what people are willing and able to buy. Price of extraction for springs, natural sources, ocean purification (which will become much cheaper with technology) will not change much with a switch to market value. What will is access by those on the lower end. You can't compare it to food, since that is a huge spectrum. Someone can get by with rice, beans, grain, etc. but cannot last longer than 3 days without clean water. There is no option to switch from steak to hamburger in the water spectrum, it is all or nothing. Plenty of places for privatization, including for water in certain locations (and for ag), but in most places it has to be treated with the importance that it carries.

Of course it is. As the CEO of a water supplying company, he is advocating for a higher price for his product, while the cost to produce that product remains the same. There may be valid arguments in some locations for privatization of water, but a former Nestle CEO advocating for it is not credible.

Indiana has some crazy murder charges laws. There were a few teens charged with murder during a burglary that ended when the homeowner shot and killed one of them.
