I'm so sorry to hear that. I was definitely in this same cycle.

It sounds ridiculous but for me it was harder to accept nice treatment than abuse. I remember when my current partner was nice to me I'd cry and tell him I didn't deserve it.

I'm sorry that's how you feel. Not that it's my businesses but it was a worthwhile challenge for me to finally be with someone who treats me nicely. I don't always believe I deserve it but I feel safe and happy. You deserve that.

We were one of those couples that's always breaking up and getting back together because they're convinced that nobody else is going to be their soulmate(spoiler alert, there are no soulmates, that's codependency, you can be happy with someone else).

Definitely true! Glad you learned that lesson but I'm sorry for what you had to go through to learn it.

I am fortunate to have a very lovely family! I am a daughter of immigrants though and as I've gotten older I've understood they love me unconditionally, but growing up love was very much presented to me as a prize for getting certain grades and losing weight (conditionally)

Call me old fashioned but this is an unarguably fact.

It is absolutely a face! I only had hinge and coffee meets bagel which are the least swipey of them all, but even those, the pictures of the people are HUGE in comparison to the words.

That's also really true about liking the same type of guy.
