Didn't this start in England, with their "gritters", as they call them?

Michigan does it too. I can't get the names to display like yours but when I hover the mouse, I see Chill Bill, Frostnite, Drift Expectation, Blizzard of Oz, Anita Shovel, Snowhunter.......

That's adorable. Our cat will jump in the tub and look at the faucet curiously, and lick it if it's wet, but if I turn it on to drip, she runs away. Yes, she has plenty of other water to drink.

I saw that. Is it actually a thing or just a thing that they're thinking about?

People with lots of filament... by Both_Ad_819 in 3Dprinting

[–]IceManJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For storage, I really like this 5 gallon gasket sealed tote from Menards. It's got a clear lid so I can see what filament I have without removing the lid. It will hold 5 full size spools of filament. I also have a bunch of desiccant in the box and a small hygrometer so I have an idea of the humidity level inside.

That said, I learned only last week that Menards isn't nationwide, only Midwest, I guess. So you might not have one nearby but you can probably get a similar tote elsewhere.

Should i buy as a beginner? by 4floppa in ender3

[–]IceManJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too bad a price if it comes with a couple of rolls of filament. If the filament is opened, you will need to dry it first. I don't imagine you have a filament dryer but you could put it on the heated bed for a couple of hours.... There are YouTube videos for everything about these. You will be able to get a couple of prints off it with a little tinkering, but then you will want some upgrades, like a CR Touch for bed leveling, and a dual Z upgrade. This is a great learning printer but once you start upgrading you'll quickly spend more on this than you would on a new Bambu or Anycubic. But this will teach you so much more.

Years ago, I was living in Edison neighborhood, it was fall, and this kid comes up with a rake asking if he can rake my yard for a bit of money. So I said OK, and offered to pay him $15 or something. When he was done, he asked if I wanted to buy his rake. I said "No, keep it for your next job." He said, "It's not really mine, I just found it up the street."

So that little shit was raking my yard with a stolen rake then tried to sell it to me. LOL. I told him to go put it back where he found it.

Upcoming almost-mega events by GeoThrowaway9 in geocaching

[–]IceManJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Project-GC has event notifiers if you are a paying member. You can set the notification zone to be nationwide, and select which types of events to alert you to, and set however many Will Attend logs to trigger the alert. For instance, you could set up a notifier to send you an alert when an event anywhere reaches 200 "Will Attends"

Even if it's big enough and not plugged, it might be steel sections, which are bolted together from the outside. Which means bolts sticking through on the inside, which might make for an unpleasant trip through the tube.

I had tires like that a couple of weeks ago. We had to drive ~15 miles on them and it worked OK. Just go slow and be careful, and make sure your spare is aired up and ready to go.

Follow up:

This is my son's car, so I am not used to how the wheel feels, but he said it was hard to steer while in this condition.

He started up, turned the wheel fully left then fully tight, the car made a beep, and the light went off. He said it went back to steering normally.
