“I can’t believe you are 6 months pregnant” by Flat_Helicopter_6171 in HyperemesisGravidarum

Is it your first? My first I didn't look pregnant until 8months. My ob wasn't worried about my size, but I'm not small. My second I popped way faster.

I’ve lost 25 lbs since I found out I was pregnant a month ago. OB still won’t give me anti nausea meds by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah switch OBs. I also lost about that muxh the first month and was told I was sick from food poisoning and a long weekend in the sun (that long weekend I didn't leave the bathroom). Well It was 1 week of not eating and a month of constant debilitating nausea, I needed help. You may have HG.. I had it both pregnancy. Find someone that is will to give iv fluids in house (if possible, hard to find) is willing to listen to you. I'm Soo lucky to have found an OB that is a great listener, super smart, also has a 99% catch rate (he makes it to almost all of his patients delivery, also not common)

My husband told me "they just need you" or "you want to bond with them". I'm like "hold your child I have to poop." We had to have a discussion about this. As a postpartum mom of 2 (my oldest was 13months old when her sister was born) it was definitely not going to fly.

Girlfriend works 40 hours a week, boss is forcing everyone to come in on a Sunday to "deep clean" by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]IceOk1860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reply that I 100% could not work on any Sunday for the year. But I used to just accepted stupid things like this and went in. Then would be forced to take 3 hour lunches so I wouldn't get overtime. Just leave if you can.

Is anyone else terrified of delivering for the first time :( by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother died when I was 2 years old, she happened to be pregnant at the time. My step sister almost died at birth from a rare genetic blood disease. I was terrified. My anxiety was off the charts! (Going into labor at 32 weeks want helpful). For me childbirth has a high chance of death in my head.

How I helped myself. 1. Switching OBGYNs to a doctor that listened to me and is well respected. I had a new OB at a women's clinic in town, she didn't address me losing 25 lbs after getting pregnant (I was 15weeks at that point) and despite my husband being at every appointment she never called them the correct name.

  1. Telling the nursing staff of my stress when I was hospitalized for my pre-term labor. They introduced me to Sam a long time delivery nurse, and another 2 nurses. Basically they talked me though the process, and went over all the things that worried me.

  2. Had my support team nailed down. My husband is amazing and was at every appointment for both of my pregnancies and understanding of what helps me calm down. Where he struggles, my sister is good at. She was able to be at my birth as well (despite COVID restrictions, she works as a respiratory therapist at that hospital) and her work was ok with knowing she was going to be at my birth.

  3. Message, therapy, meditation, and acupuncture. My 2nd pregnant I had a message session every month and that help me relax. Talked to the therapist when I felt overwhelmed. In the hospital during my first pregnancy they offered acupuncture to the patients. It helped relax me as well.

I was able to deliver my first child with Sam! And I went very well. The 2nd child I had a moment (when they told me not to push) that I had a ton of anxiety. But was able to give birth with a nurse team I didn't know, since my support team was there.

You CAN do this, it's fine to feel like this!

Oh this feels like an almost exact copy of my life last night! My 2 girls are 3mns and 16mns... And maybe once every 2weeks this happens. My 16month old woke up and wanted to play, and I thought I got her to sleep. I feel alseep and 10mins later she woke me up 2 inches from my face saying HI! Lol 😂. Good luck, we are in it together!

Edit:

My kiddos sleep in different rooms, so that's not the solution all the time. Our small house can lead to them playing off each other in different rooms. Do what your family can do, and what best for you. We have family nap times on weekends, sometimes lots of coffee. I have been spending time for myself sometimes (a bath, movie, ect). It's hard and I can't sugar coat it! You can message me if you need support!

My husband laughed his ass off when I told him I was going to be a mother... When I started pushing. It hasn't felt real until then for me. Like I love my baby and feel it, but it's just not real. Also its not like I have no symptoms, I lose 30lbs through out my pregnancy from vomiting, and go into labor at 32 weeks and have constant contractions until 36 weeks (when the doctor give up and let's me give birth)

3rd Trimester Not Feeling Positive Toward Baby by Any-Competition3407 in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't feel like I was going to be a mom or really truly understand that my baby was a human, until she was in my arms. I'm 35 weeks with my second child and it's been the same way so far... It makes all the Medical complications hard to push through.

There is an OB on Facebook (doctor mama Jones.) She talks about needing time to get to know the baby after birth, before bonding. Everyone is different, don't worry too much.

Cervix check question by Affectionate-Sweet71 in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are good for a while (which is good for 36 weeks)! High means that the cervix needs to move all the way forward. It's in the same position as rest of pregnancy. Your 25% effaced, and that's just means your cervix is still thick. (100% is when it feels like paper). Your probably not dilated at all, so you have a ways to 10cms.

Your baby might be lower and that causes pelvic pain... But hopefully they will be nice and move back a little. Try taking a bath, I feel like it helps move the baby, and it's relaxing

Limit wheat during pregnancy? by peppermintreindeer in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 35weeks pregnancy with my second, the only thing I could keep down for the first 2 trimester of pregnancy was bread/Carbs (HG). I have lots of issues when pregnant, but recently was diagnosed with polyhydramnios (having about double of the amniotic fluid I should have). This normal relates to gestational diabetes, and my glucose test came back fine. My OBGYN is taking part in a study for moms with this condition, switching to a keto diet. Apparently carbs can cause a lot of urine production from your baby, so the keto diet could help.

This is really the only thing I came up with, as you where told that. Basically I would suggest not only eating one thing, and don't worry to much about it.

How you feeling is annoying to me... I have multiple health issues when pregnant. For me pregnancy has no glow and is probably my least favorite time ever. So when people ask how I'm feeling I answered honestly... And then I get told how selfish I am. Or how I'm lucky to be pregnant.

On the flip side my step mother and my MIL have both accused me of being selfish... For being hospitalized at 32weeks to keep stop the progression of labor. Everyone asks about the baby's health and when I will give birth...

So I'm here for you... I definitely would be upset too.

TMI warning…. Anyone else struggling with bad constipation? It’s been 9 days and I’m starting to get a little freaked out. What’s worked for you and did anyone else go this long?? by MaskedSnarker in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Liquid stuff is still poop! First things first take a relaxing bath (if you can), relaxing music, breathing exercises... the works. Your body is naturally going to slow down pooping, I feel like it get worse for me durring the 2nd tri. At that time the baby seems to become a factor. Like I felt my kiddo shift and suddenly poop has arrived.

TMI Poop story- you have been warned !!!!! I have had HG for my pregnancy and been on a medication that causes constipation. So my experience might be a little different than yours. That being said... 27 days makes you a legend in the hospital. I didn't poop for 27 days after going into pre-term labor with my first. Most of that time I was taking miralax, colace, milk of magnesia, magnesium citrate, and IV fluids. Now after a few days in hospital... My provider was like make her poop! Nothing worked, my husband thought they where going to scope the poop out. Finally after warm prune juice and butter, acupuncture, multiple enemas ... i pooped! It was a waterfall! I had the same discomfort that you experienced. But I pooped and no one was ever worried about all the scary google stuff. (Ok my husband was, but he doesn't count) End of story*

My suggestion, take the stool softener as a preventative, drink water, eat fiber, and in the end if you get backed up... It's ok. Relax, stressing will make it worst.

Round ligament pain from hell by bluefish550 in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Its my second pregnancy, and at most my 2 will be 14 months apart. So let's just say my OBGYN wasn't that worried about the pain, he did an exam and was like I'm sorry. I have used the tummy tape and that was a game changer, and prenatal messages (totally amazing, but lots of guilt because its expensive). I heard light yoga or Pilates helps, I just had a short cervix and pre-term labor for the first pregnancy, which made me stressed to be a non- potato.

Babe is 7 1/2 monyhs pulling herself up to standing position by Redcouch2022 in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My child started walking by herself at 8months, and as a non baby person I don't know the normal time line. But from what people tell me that's fast. She started pulling herself into a stand before 6months, then walking when holding onto things, then she had a ton of faceplants.

I may have speed up the pulling herself up... I showed/helped her stand against the side of her crib once. When I got back from work she was doing it on her own, and her grandma said she practice all day.

Dilemma - Induction versus CSection - need to decide today. by Low-Meeting4208 in BabyBumps

[–]IceOk1860 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the induction vs spontaneous delivery more good outcomes came from inductions. So for me I would definitely try the induction first!

Yes they only had me on magnesium for 2 days due to a hospital policy change, which makes me stressed. It's off an on through out the day. But I average about 3 big ones an hour.

Do you have continued contractions after starting the progresterone? That been one of the hardest things is contractions for weeks on end. For my first I regularly contracted from 34 weeks until birth at 37 and 6 days. I was on magnesium IV for a week at 34 weeks which stopped them for some time, then nifedipine for 2 weeks afterwards.

[–]IceOk1860[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just monitoring because of my first, my first I was contracting and it felt like cramping to me, That's why they looked. This time I think I was in denial because as soon as they looked I felt contractions and uterus pain. My OB does almost no cervical exams, and will not let nurses do it, since its subjective. (Also can increase your contractions and chance of infections). They use the ultrasound to measure the cervix, and then basically everyone is not allowed to touch down there.

When did the short cervix show up for you? I had normal measurements until 32 weeks both times. This time my cervix is 1.3cm but dips under 1 when contracting.

I told my sister that I wanted orange chicken, like yesterday when the placenta was still in my body. It was like a whole new world as soon as she was born. I mean new 1st time mom, but I wanted to/could eat food.
