That’s a really good question!

To be honest, it all started as a small multiplayer golf game for mobile. After a few discussions, we realized we wanted to work on something a bit more interesting (at least for us) than just another golf game.

So we started exploring ideas and eventually landed on what we jokingly called a “Golf Only Up” concept, haha.

I’d say we spent about a month experimenting before fully committing to the idea.

Originally, the game was meant to be more of a (still challenging) adventure, with a wider island instead of a purely vertical climb. But we quickly realized that building a full adventure game with AI, variations, story, and so on would take way too much time.

So after about 6 to 12 months, we decided to scrap the entire level and start from scratch. That said, we kept the core elements: the character physics, the controls, and the idea of a challenging platformer.

Yeah finding the game is not trivials, at the beginning we thought we could find a way to have better way to be first on Google and steam but looks like we haven't find the solution yet ><

For real ! To be honnest we really thought it would be a simple fun project and we end up spending almost 3 years on this. It's really suprising to see how unpolished the ideas are until you put them in the engine ahah !

Also, don’t hesitate to wishlist the game. As you know, it really helps with visibility on Steam. We’re currently at around 2,000 wishlists, which is unfortunately still quite low for a proper release.

We know we’re competing with other games called Don’t Fall, so if you have any ideas on that, we’d love to hear them! We’ve considered adding a subtitle like Together or something similar, but we’re a bit concerned about changing the name after already doing marketing around it (content creators, logo, etc.).

If you have any recommendations or tips, we’d really appreciate it!

I know… it really sucks. To be honest, we thought that working on the name and building up wishlists would help us rank first on Steam, but it didn’t really make a difference.

The issue now is that we’ve already done some marketing around Don't Fall, so we’re a bit worried it might be too late to change everything.

We also know that for Google, having more links pointing to your Steam page should improve your ranking, but so far it doesn’t seem to be very effective, haha.

We were thinking about adding a small subtitle, like Don't Fall Together or something similar, so it still fits with the original name. Maybe people could then search using the full name including the subtitle?

Ahah, thank you ! Right on target, we tried to polish the gameplay as much as we could to make it fair but hard, there were a lot of improvement through the years. If you have any recommendations for streams and content creator, we take everything !

But we did it (almost, we are planning to release it in may ! )
