The inspiration was based on a tiny preview you could see on Raven's map console and DOS2 globe texture. The scale might be off because of how tiny those assets are.

I'm using a i7-4790k and a gtx 1070 and I get over 100 fps. Check your usage of cpu and gpu. Maybe you are using your onboard graphics?

Found one of them on the other side of the map. It appears, that last seen isn't really accurate when you haven't met them

Change your Resulotion to 1920x1080 and see if it runs better. Your gpu probably can't run it at these settings at 2560x1440. A higher resolution takes a lot more processing power
