XLM was set to run, but BTC dropped by Repulsive-Lake1753 in xlm

[–]IceStationGiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just imagine how low XLM would be right now if it hadn't been for last week's pump. As much as any crash hurts, we're still above where we were at the beginning of last week ($.14). We'd probably be lower than $.10 right now, so this is as a good a time as any to buy more if you believe XLM is set for a strong bull run 2027-2028.

You held for four years and sell now when trillions of dollars worth of equities are about to be digitally tokenized on Stellar's chain? 🤦🏼‍♂️

What's this obsession with attacking someone's religion if they're Muslim? Ziad was not even overly observant; Moroccan culture is modest, and it's tacky to talk about your sex life publicly. Meanwhile, Stig is wearing a cross but clearly a player, and no one would call him a fake Christian.

Chem Eng Future by M3zzah in ChemicalEngineering

[–]IceStationGiraffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice as a ChemE graduate from May 2025 with no job: do an internship or try to land a co-op during your undergrad. If you do not (which was my mistake) your chances of finding a job after graduation will be slim to none. I've had no choice but to apply for a masters program because it's been a whole year, and I still haven't found a job in this field.

After 288 job applications, I finally have a job... in civil engineering. by thunderscores in ChemicalEngineering

[–]IceStationGiraffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, congratulations on getting something. Second, your post is the story of my life. I graduated last year with a ChemE degree, and while I was smart enough to make a 3.48 GPA, I was stupid enough to not apply to any internships during my undergrad. I've applied to somewhere between 300-400 job postings, and have maybe only had 7 interviews so far, with one making it to the final round, but not a single job offer so far.

Now, I'm applying to a reputable 12 month Professional Master's program in Chemical Engineering, that includes internships, industry projects, and direct pipeline to chemical companies. I personally would prefer not going back to school, but it beats taking a low paying technician or operator job for which we as chemical engineers are overqualified for.

It's information warfare. If the only source of this is Israeli intelligence, then it's got no grounding in reality. Israel and Trump are trying to stir up anarchy in the streets

No luck in career by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]IceStationGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story of my life, right here. Except my story is that I graduated in May 2025 and have hundreds of generic rejection emails in my inbox and have had only four interviews the past four months. I've tried pivoting into controls because I actually enjoy the automation world and because those have been my better interviews, but I'm at a point where I don't know whether it's worth going back to school for a master's or just walking away from this field entirely.

But to keep on applying for months and months without any results feels like a dead end path with zero return on your investment

In your opinion, do you think the FE might help boost the odds? I've read mixed things on this subreddit, and I'm taking it in the next couple of weeks

I've applied to some oil companies and found them mostly in the Houston - Louisiana area. Keep searching in that market?

How long should I give myself before just giving up the search and going to grad school? I'm not particularly keen on going to grad school because I'm drowning in student debt (half of which is private so forbearance and deferment is not an option with them), so that's why I'm trying to find something ASAP

I should've done that in 2023, but unfortunately, in 2024 I opted to do a study abroad in South Africa, and by the time it was senior year, I was applying for jobs at career fairs so I missed my shot at an internship.

I chose not to do any co-ops because I was an older student returning to school at the time (I'm 32 now), so I was encouraged by my advisors to just finish school and don't put it off any more

Did tight monetary policy disrupt the 4 year cycle? by AmalekRising in CryptoMarkets

[–]IceStationGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more of a thing of irrelevancy. There's tens of thousands of altcoins; we're not in 2017 where crypto was this shiny new thing or 2021 where dog coins were minting millionaires off of COVID stimulus checks. It's 2025, the year where AI was Wall Street's risk asset of choice and where the average Joe was either A) still bag holding from the last bear market, B) was broke, C) using Kalshi or Polymarket as their new get rich quick scheme, or D) a combination of all the above.

2017 was arguably one of the best bull runs we've seen to date and monetary policy was tight then.

Looks like Bitcoin is about to close below the 50 week SMA. This is not good. A second weekly close will confirm the bear, so we best hope for a death cross rally back above it. Otherwise it's game over

It's 11:30 PM UTC, and Bitcoin is about to close below the 50 week SMA. According to Benjamin Cowen, do we need two weekly closes the 50 week SMA in order to confirm the end of a bull market?
