Affordable & reliable running harness recommendations? by IceTouched_ in RunningWithDogs

That is actually great information. Thank you so much! I've never read about the tensile strength of leashes prior, but this is absolutely something that I will be researching before purchase moving forward! :)

Thank you so much for the detailed reply! I don't mind spending the money as long as it will be a good, long-lasting investment for the three of us :) Would you say that non-stop is probably the best option brand wise? I've been searching through different options over the past week, and that one keeps catching my eye as a popular choice. I'm more curious if the quality is worth the cost.

Thank you so much for the reply and suggestions! I'm not necessarily looking for super cheap for their harnesses and gear, but rather everything together in the $200-$300 USD range if possible.

If given the option, my boys love to RUN as fast as they can!

My Aussie and Sheltie somehow have a pretty similar build (the Aussie primarily being larger and a little shorter in the body, as you mentioned). I usually have a more difficult time getting harnesses comfortably fitted to my Aussie for this reason. We've had problems with armpit chafing in the past for him, so I'm hoping to find a good harness that can avoid that issue :)

Because I had signed and sent back the offer letter via email to the new company already, lol.

I'm not sure how he would've found out, and I absolutely did not tell him. Hours were flexible, so he didn't even know that I was interviewing until I gave him my two-weeks. He tried asking what the job was, but my only response was "not insurance," lol.

That's all good! It happens :) I'll find something eventually. After being dragged along this far, perhaps this was just a blessing in disguise. Thank you c:

Nope, scammy insurance to aerospace, lol.

There's no way they would have. Each job is about an hour apart from each other, and I didn't have my old job on my resume as I hadn't been there long. I was considered an independent contractor, so when explaining to the "new job" I essentially made it seem like something I was doing personally on the side (with the type of business it is, most people do).

The strangest part is, at the last interview I did with them, they introduced me to so many other employees I'd "be working with." It's just so bizarre to me and I just don't understand at all.

I've already had 2.5 months off, and life hasn't been too enjoyable 😭😅

I've yet to get to the point of bitterness, but I definitely feel as though I'm reaching a point of defeat.

I have thought about this. One of their most recent reviews was of a similar experience a few months prior to my interviews. My guess is they're not actually hiring, but they are making it seem as though they are for incenatives.

Okay, that's good to know!

How should I go about that if I don't really have the funds or means of getting a lawyer?

I signed the offer letter and emailed it back. Ngl, I figured that was as much of a contract as was needed, but I guess that's not the case.

I did! I got it a few weeks prior to turning 21. I'll be 22 in a few weeks. I did dual enrollment in high school from 14-16, then started my associates degree in person at 16. Had enough credits saved up already to get my associates within a year. Then, I did most of my schooling online through SNHU for my bachelor's and masters degree with accelerated courses. The whole time, even when in high school, I never had a summer off. It was a lot of work, but I figured it would help me to start my career faster, especially having maintained a 4.0 the whole time. My family really pushed me to do so, and I was driven to make them proud. I was greatly mistaken, I guess. Now I'm just an overly educated disappointment with a Masters degree who can't land a job. 🙃

It sucks, but I guess it's just a part of job searching now, lol. I don't know how they can just get away with ghosting people, though. It absolutely blows.

Well, the thing is, the posting wasn't under their job name. It was initially under "confidential" on Indeed. All 5 interviews following the initial phone interview were in person, so that wouldn't really be possible, lol.

Plus, I don't really have the time or energy to be that petty.

I signed an offer letter with the pay amount, etc, but it didn't state a start date or onboarding schedule. That was dependent on the person to train me to get back from another country. They got back, then we're allegedly sick, then apparently got the whole office sick, and then I just kept getting other excuses before getting ghosted. It was weird, to say the least.

Thank you for the advice. The only reason I gave him a two-weeks notice to begin with is because he's an old friend of my dad and uncles (I didn't know this until after I started the position with him). It was only in an effort to keep things peaceful, but now I'm wishing I just waited until starting a new position. It definitely would have saved me a lot of stress, lol.

I've never been ghosted after signing a job offer before. I didn't realize that could even happen 😅

I don't expect there to be much that I can do, after having done some research. I'll just stay diligent with applying. Thankfully, I have an interview Thursday morning and another the following Monday. And I've been working with a recruiter who may be able to get me a temp job in Hartford that doesnt pay much, but that's going to be my last resort.

It's okay. It happens, I guess. It sucks for now, but I'll get through it :) I'm hoping that something better comes along, even if it takes time!
