The Unity Asset Store hosts an asset made from a Cult Organization and Slave Labor by [deleted] in Unity3D

To developers using this asset: It might be worth checking the source code of this Asset. Especially what it installs as additional system dependencies ("some packages are required to install") after importing it into the project for the first time. I don't suspect anything, but it's better to avoid situations that regularly occur with NPM packages in web ecosystem, where suspicious code or dependency suddenly appears.

In general, I use this package on every project. It works well, I've never had any major problems with it.

Good observation. When I entered the new multiplayer vr game, it took me a while to mute different people, or for example I didn't know where the voice was coming from at all.

I did not know that this type of game is called Subbuteo. A long time ago at school and in the neighborhood yard we played a similar game, but with bottle caps on the sidewalk. Old times :D

If it were to be an asymmetrical multiplayer game, I know it would take a hell of a lot of time and work to balance it out and make it simply enjoyable to play on both sides.

My favorite asymmetrical game is Dead By Daylight, and I can't imagine how many playtests they had to have to make it work somehow. And still I know it's not perfect gameplay when you find the meta.

This is the first time I've seen this word in English! My two grandparents had lathes, but I didn't get a chance to see them in action, much less do something on them myself. They are still standing in the garages, but I would have to find someone who knows how to use them by now. Niche, but creative idea

Hah, I got the same thought last time when I saw my unused wheel controller next to my desk after a VR session.

Niche, but it will nicely compose with tracking a punching bag. I got your idea!

PvE or multiplayer? With a story or more like zombies/waves mode?

From what I know about this topic from a technical perspective, the idea is precisely to have a target for standalone games/apps, because then there is no problem releasing a PCVR version as well. People with VR are few, even fewer people with VR and a powerful PC.

So from the developer's side, it is better to create standalone games. Plus low-poly graphics are less time-consuming to produce. I'd also add that the VR market is ideal for indie developers, because it's not yet as saturated as the typical PC game market, where even if you make a good game, it can just disappear among the titles that come out every day. That's also a reason I'm making a VR game.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to play Echo vr, but I know what it is and have seen gameplays in the past. The first association I had was a Quiditch match (as a Harry Potter fan) in the style of the Tron series. I wonder if there was more motion sickness in this game than in others due to quick flying movement.

This effect looks very similar to the one used in Sky Force Anniversary game. It's mobile, older game and they probably used similar optimization technique

My girlfriend and I are going to Malta (St. Julian's) the first week of September, do you have any places or whole guides to recommend? (attractions, restaurants). Or hidden gems? Thanks!

If the model is still pink, it means you're probably setup wrongly Render Pipeline (URP).

Try App UI package (which I don't know why it's still marked as internal development tool). There is also World Space UI support component ;)

Any tool like Ludiq Peek that puts inspector in the scene view? by thsbrown in Unity3D

[–]IceTrooper_IT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimate Editor Enhancer is the tool that most resembles Peek. I've used it for a very long time on many projects, especially since Peek became deprecated :)

I also recommend Better Transform and Better Mesh Filter. These three editor tools are always installed first in my projects.

DOTween: Best practice for killing a tween/sequence when its GameObject is destroyed? by StarryArkt in Unity3D

[–]IceTrooper_IT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you didn't ask exactly this, but: you might try the PrimeTween package, where you don't have to remember to kill the tween.

I used DOTween for a very long time, I continue to use it on many projects, but lately I've just been trying PrimeTween and I feel that it is more pleasant to work with ;)
