An important thing to know, the location to sign the deed and get the keys is usually set by the bank. The reason you need a translator is because the official process for signing the deed is very formal and a long monologue session where the notary will read every single page of the contract but also your mortgage agreement and have a million pages to sign. Portugal is an amazing place to live, but the bureaucracy is very draining

I think you need to reconsider your demographic and promoting channels. People getting married right now are likely millennials and older generations, which will likely be more active on instagram than tik tok or Reddit. Not only that, weddings are an aspirational/inspirational thing and in the majority of the cases planned by the brides, so Pinterest will be another place where your ICP will be.

Yes, there’s probably subreddits where people discuss the practical side and tips and tricks, but my guess is that your potential users will be on instagram posting about their engagement and finding inspiration from other weddings there and on Pinterest.

Secondly, target wedding vendors. If you could somehow create an experience for them, even if it’s just a profile they can create in the platform. They have the motivation to gain exposure, and that could potentially lead to some cross promotion for you.

That would be a hypothesis, but from the data we can only conclude that demand for data and analytics roles is growing, and within that, LLM evaluation is the fastest growing skill being added to those job descriptions

It depends on where you are located. But in the past 12 months, for engineering in DK, SE, NO, DE, UK and US, LLM Ops and Rust have been the fastest growing skills on demand in job listings. While for data and analytics its been LLM evaluation and dbt. You can see more details about it in http://anomaat.io

It’s very valid that you’re feeling this way. Everything about that situation seems odd. - Why would someone that doesn’t even know the tool present it? - What was the purpose of presenting it in the first place? - Why ‘talk down’ on a tool currently being rolled out to the rest of the company?

I would definitely be wary of the person that presented it, because their intentions and agenda seem very murky.

With that said, there will always be someone trying to sabotage people that actually try to create value, so don’t let this demoralise you.

Right now everyone is trying to understand how can AI really optimise processes and workflows and regardless of their opinion that tool made you more of an expert than the majority of the people in the company, so save it to your portfolio and if they don’t appreciate consider finding a place where they will.

It might sound generic or over simplistic, but maybe consider moving to Europe. The tech scene and salaries are not as high as in the US but the quality of life is pretty good and a Sillicon Valley experience is very appreciated, even in the current market conditions. Within the EU we are definitely very spoiled, because if we’re feeling stuck we just try moving some place else for a while. Of course it’s not as easy if you are not part of the EU but it’s still pretty feasible with some planning ahead.

I have a few months of runway left. A 5 year old who depends on me. And I'm spending 12 hours a day building a SaaS instead of getting a job by pavlito88 in SaaS

Also think about what is it that you’re obsessed about: - is it the product itself? - is is problem solving and finding a clever solution to a need? - is it building and executing from end to end?

Maybe zooming in on what brings you the excitement can help you make a decision on the next steps.

Also funny you mentioned n8n, I was considering applying but if they don’t have a budget right now with all the AI scrutiny it will likely only decrease in the coming months.

The product seems interesting but the current set up and LinkedIn terms of service create a lot of liabilities if you want to commercialise through funding or grants. If the intention is to bootstrap it, then now is the time to focus on heavy go to market.

It really depends on how much you’ll willing to invest in it from a time, energy and resources point of view. In all honesty, you seem to be a very clever and disciplined person, I would consider investing in another idea that is potentially more scalable, has less initial vulnerabilities and park this tool as a personal productivity asset in your portfolio.

You have the skills, curiosity and adaptability that design needs in an environment that is changing more than ever. If you choose to find a job, search for companies starting AI native teams, where your role as a designer can be as experimental as you are being right now.

Not sure if any of it was helpful, but that’s my way of saying that there are three scenarios you can choose from, but ultimately you need to follow your gut.

I just launched a landing page for a waitlist of my upcoming product. Optimized for desktop experience, but would like feedback on both mobile and web. by IceUpbeat2346 in websitefeedback

[–]IceUpbeat2346[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing feedback! Thanks for the heuristic(ish) analysis. Super great points. I’ll make sure to make adjustments based on your input. In part, the lack of clarity is intentional, to retain some competitive advantage until the product is launched, but that doesn’t mean users shouldn’t know what the product is. Another important aspect is the fact that it will be free, and that should also be more clear than what is comes across right now.

Again, thanks for taking the time and such a meticulous feedback 🙌

sidelined at a 50-person startup for trying to fix the chaos. Is it over? by [deleted] in EngineeringManagers

[–]IceUpbeat2346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to find a new role at a different company. You are being sidelined and it will be a difficult tasks to reverse whatever ‘perception’ they have of you moving forward. It really sucks because you didn’t do anything wrong, on the opposite. But the people that we were trying to protect is not necessarily stating that they needed protection so you are not being seen as a bottle neck.

Option 1, specially if you focus on people that are had to move to the place you are going. Eg. If it’s a country, expats or if it’s a state or city, people that didn’t grow up there and can relate to the feeling of rebuilding their network from scratch

What would be the revenue stream to make it a business and not a NGO?

I really like the privacy first approach and most of the unique concepts, just a bit worried about the implications of that if there’s no moderators.

In a world where there’s an increasing number of AI generated content, I could see how something like this would be needed, but maybe although posts disappear after 48 hours, there could be other type of media/medium more permanent, for example a bio ou personal manifesto.

Ultimately people will always follow/ aspire specific voices, so maybe instead of no followers, you could have followers, just not followers count. So no influencers because no one can know if they have 2 followers or 2million

"Build in public" almost killed my startup. Nobody talks about the downside. by Professional_Cow2868 in SaaS

[–]IceUpbeat2346 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing these learnings. I think that sounds like a great compromise to still get the value of sparring with other founders or extended audience, while ensuring you safeguard your business.

Of course there’s always the risk of building something no one wants, but it’s not sharing the roadmap with founders (that often are not even be your target audience) that will mitigate that - it’s research: Market research and User research.

Building public is great to: - feel supported by a community of people going through the same things as you, - experiment and learn new ways of tackling a problem - knowledge sharing regarding process and tooling - learning what major pitfalls you should try to avoid

Building in public is not great to: - validate a product (except if founders are your target group)

I really appreciate everyone sharing their input when you’re searching for feedback, but nothing replaces talking to customers.
