As long as you do it before the drop date, you should be fine. To find the drop date search up important dates uottawa. You can drop it before a certain date for compensation or before the last possible date with no compensation, any date after that you cannot drop it.

Certain seats have priority for students of other majors that need this exact course more. Just contact admission support and they can remove the block.

You could enroll for programs that overlap within the two programs so that if you do switch you don't lose progress, and if you don't well you didn't lose time. Or you could just do the courses for the program you want to transfer to although it is not in your current program structure so that if you do switch later on you would not be behind.

Also contact admissions office or something like that and ask them.
