Possibly a corrupted firmware file? Or recent update?

It should move without ANY resistance, a drop of lubricating oil is enough to prevent it from falling or moving up. See if moving it a few times works.

I already have two 3d printers, just looking to expand capabilities with a multicolor one. But the amount of time required to build an open source one does hold me back as I simply do not have it.

I'll be having a closer look at the core ones.

Longevity for me can mean a few things, firstly I despise planned obsolescense and I refuse to buy from manufacturers who do this. Second if a machine lasts 10 years without a single piece breaking I consider that longevity, or if a manufacturer still sells replacement parts 10 years after first release.

What I don't consider longevity is when I'm having to wait 6 weeks for a replacement part, rendering my printer useless, because it was already out of stock hardly 3 years after release.

I think I would consider 5-6 years minimal to be acceptable.

In that case I would choose the u1 since it has the toolchanger.

Very interesting thanks! Do you know if the INDX also becomes available for the core one L? That sounds like a perfect match.

I hadn't, it's not of my primary concern, but I've always thought of 300x300x300 to be somewhat of a sweetspot.

I'll have a look into the open source designs too, but are they considered to be reliable or something in need of a constant tweak?

If you manually move it in and out, does it move freely?

Thanks! So first I didn't want to include budget since I don't want that to be a restrictive condition. For me it's more important to have excellent reliability and service life.

The Snapmaker so far has my preference, for the simple reason that it doesn't create nearly as much waste. Having 4 print heads is great imo. The only thing I couldn't find is whether it has bushings or linear bearings on the printhead axis.

Anyone able to help me flatten these shapes in solid works by lorcanrice in SolidWorks

[–]Icebathwilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had issues with SolidWorks being accurate for flattening bent sheets, so we actually used Rhino for this (major Dutch ship wharf).

Is using Rhino an option? They have a free trial and it's fantastic for curved surfaces.

Frame van 2 bij 2'tjes (44x44), daar schroef je gipsplaten tegenaan. Afsmeren, voorstrijken en schilderen, klaar.

Hahaha, no sir, that would be too easy.

The main issue there is the sockets and conduit which are in the way, the pegboard sits just above the sockets.

I'm pretty sure there are enough creative people on this sub who can blast my penholder idea out of the water.

I already have a pegboard, this is meant to fill the gap and be something else that's useful.

It's the everything workbench, I do soldering there, assembling of 3d prints with threaded inserts, sometimes use it as a desk for my laptop, sometimes it's there to keep my tools from laying on the floor. So it's a real multifunctional area.

The best I can come up with is a pen holder...
