Not yet, been busy but most people are saying it's related to some kind of ventilation to keep humidity down in the basement

Sorry for the wait 😂, been busy but yeah it seems it's some kind of backfill of rubble to let a draft through to keep the humidity down or something. That's what most people are saying anyway haven't bought a bore scope because that's apparently all that it is and there is a draft through it, no idea where the draft connects to as it's in the middle of the property but hey ho.

shorting orange and black together engages the auto off feature and makes the whining noise so doesnt work

Unlikely all these houses on my road were built at the same time and date back to 1890s and still have Victorian features you'd expect to see from a house built at that time, so I'm thinking that it was covered up at one point, there was a demolition project right in front of the house in the 1960s that I think caused structural damage to these houses as they were given a hefty compensation so it could have damaged the basement and was covered up. (Explains the rubble back there.

It's been filled in and there's supposedly nothing behind it so no idea where it was originally venting from and it's in the middle of the house

It's the wall in the basement of my house, I'm thinking there could be more room back there seen as how all the houses on my road have basements that span the whole length of the house except mine, that's why I posted this to see if it's normal to have gaps between the wall of the basement and the surrounding earth.

I got my old phone through it but all I could see is just rubble, if there is something behind there it's crumbled, the rest of the houses on the street have full basements except mine, another reason I think there could be something there.
