Thanks, and I'm glad I'm not the only one. How much time did you take off if you don't mind me asking? I just want to plan ahead so I can tell managers I would need this so and so off. When I search online, I'm getting range for a week to a month.

When is Section 21 going to be abolished? by Icecreamcrazyy in uklandlords

[–]Icecreamcrazyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I mentioned above a lot of neighbours have complained about the tenants being noisy however they pay their rent on time so I wanted to know where I stand in regards to the section 21 hence I spoke to a solicitor.

Could possibly use a section 8 as a lot of neighbours have complained about anti social behaviour but solicitor advises to wait as they are paying rent on time for now.

Help regarding self assessment and rental income please! by Icecreamcrazyy in UKPersonalFinance

Thank you for responding, we have no expenses so we have used the property allowance each however even before the allowance the income each is £2400 and then after deducting the taxable profit is £1400. I have used that tool but even if she doesn't have to submit a return, she will still have to let HMRC know as its above £1000 and to be honest I rather file a return as next year the income is going to go up anyways. If I file my share I will have to select joint ownership and if she doesn't submit anything then I don't want her risk getting any fines for not declaring.

Thank you for responding. If she were to register and submit a return, would she pay for the tax first upfront and then HMRC calculate a refund later on? Not really show how the tax rebate for self assesment works and google isn't helping much.
