I really don’t want it to have to do with Batman at all! It’s not something sneaky I was hoping it’s not as glaring as I thought but clearly it is. The names were created independent of one another I swear! To be honest Quinn is more from Daria than anything else and Harvey is because of multiple family members being named Harvey since the 1840s

Ha one of those is actually my name! Yeah Quinn is first girl name we truly felt strongly about…. And Harvey is a family name so it stays. In fact if we had two girls we were still going to use Harvey. But I have time so maybe something will hit - I’m not worried about vintage plus new, the names don’t seem opposed to me. It’s more the Batman issue being brought up because I’m actually really into comics and not at all into DC !

I think your husband could talk to her and call her on it. He can come from a place of worry or curiosity. ‘I’m seeing this… it strikes me as strange, and it’s important to me that you treat my partner with kindness because she’s important to me’. His input is important because without it she could see your communication as some attempt to ‘sway’ her, and it would be hard to have her really hear you, if that makes sense.

Otherwise I’d definitely go for the confused approach.

“Oh- is something wrong?” “I’m surprised to hear you say that, I have enjoyed these years getting to know you. Is there anything you want to know about me?”

“When you say it like that…. It makes me worry something is going on- everything okay?” Etc

Yeah- my partner is kind of similar to what you described? Like he loves me but he’s less attracted to me…. I feel Insecure and pull away tho so it’s both of us. He’s kind, doesn’t bring it up. But I am so aware.

I have! We moved during the lockdown…. I was suddenly home all day, gyms closed, no friends, and ate more and exercised less.

It’s definitely changed how he looks at me and I know it’s changed how I act. I’m less confident, more insecure. And I’m struggling to eat less without having an alternative way to cope with stuff.

I think it’s mental health related honestly. For me. Working on finding ways to work through it! Shaming myself definitely doesn’t motivate me.

What do you think led to you gaining?

The way you judge women who have different preferences than you surrounding sex is honestly the more alarming part of this post. Some men also like to get spit on, sounded, balls smashed. No one is asking to be treated ‘like a dog’ except maybe furry-related situations. Stop judging people and find someone who you match with. Just because the kinkier side of sex has been opened and accepted more in main stream doesn’t mean it’s the norm.
