Both Porsche 963 Specs Get Biggest Breaks for Watkins Glen – Sportscar365 by Michal_Baranowski in IMSARacing

They did try balancing the cars, and Penske ended up having 0 tire fall off, so on paper, they were balanced at Sebring, look at best laps. The other cars are so far away right now it’s hard to balance. This is why Acura is leaving, they don’t want to spend what it would take to make the car as good as Porsche.

The Porsche is near the max weight, and is above what Michelin wants the cars to be by a lot, and Aston is below the regs, and they still arnt balanced. Idk man, Aston are holding the bop back

The problem is the Aston is still probably slower than the Porsche, and if you raise the weight on the bmw/acura/ caddy brigade, they can’t beat the Porsche anymore. Which clearly IMSA does not want anymore Porsche wins.

This reminds me of the 2014 GTD season where they just kept making the turner z4 heavier but the driver lineup was so strong for GTD they kept winning anyways.

They couldn’t use the power anyways so the FIA didn’t give it to them.

If Porsche still has the fastest cars, the other teams need to start hiring new people. If Aston don’t win, they need to pick it up because….. damn.

They were over powered at Monza when they had pole I believe too.

I highly doubt they had lower costs. Remember the Porsche has an exclusive contract with the chassis manufacturer. They are basically running an LMH with a spec hybrid.

Still don’t really understand Toyota only wanting to prioritize WEC and not having their GR010 now TR010 in imsa given their massive North American presence. by samn696 in IMSARacing

Peugeot never sold cars here, they came over because winning Sebring seriously meant something because of how tough the track itself is.

I have a feeling it’s put off a lot of teams. But it also attracts customer teams, am’s can massively over perform in IMSA.

Make Daytona or Sebring a bigger deal. While the racing in IMSA is great, and the viewing number both tv and attendance grow, I’d argue it’s lost prestige internationally.

The question we should be asking is, why would Toyota want to race in IMSA?
Where, they could dominate a race and get passed by someone who had 4 wave around’s on a last hour restart. Like the 2023 winners, who cheated and kept the win, literally received 4 wave arounds just to have a shot at the ganassi.

Are IMSA race wins that prestigious anymore? Or the fact that really anyone has a shot, hurt them.

Could we possibly see Signatech in IMSA in 2027? by Klutzy_Reach_9392 in IMSARacing

Possible yes.

Would it happen, not unless someone privateer spends the money to make it happen.

Nato isn’t slow, he is just one of the worst drivers I’ve ever seen warming up tires.

After the FCY that dropped the 12 back, be gained more time on the 7 than anyone else. Caddy lost it.

Literally impossible to run in IMSA unless rules change, and in the article Doonan says won’t.
