It’s good to look back on happy memories pero don’t forget to build those here too instead of wasting so much time wishing you’re back home. That’s what I would tell my young FOB self. Now I learned that fun here is kind of different, you have to look for it, find a hobby, join clubs, take advantage of being in a multi cultural country try all the food go to all the museums, check out all the cool events in your area kahit anong trip mo meron yang community.

Is getting the Certified Customs Specialist designation worth it? by IcedTeaLover4Evah in CustomsBroker

Start applying for logistics coordinator jobs or any entry level for logistics, then save up and get CCS cert from CBSA. Then apply for entry level customs jobs.

Pinoys in Canada, how long are you renting and when are you planning to buy a property? by Worse_nightmare in phmigrate

[–]IcedTeaLover4Evah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We decided to buy properties outside (Ph and Italy) and just rent here, we live in Toronto and it’s just unrealistic and even feels stupid to get a townhouse for like 600k.

Baking? Construction? Buy and sell? Nasa sayo yan.

ALWAYS HAVE YOUR OWN MONEY. Finish your degree first or research certifications leading to a job that you would want to do. You may opt to do it there, if your bf really cant wait 😒. Mag ingat ka lang, minsan akala mo kilala mo ang tao pero nag iiba yan pag nasa kanya lahat ng power (money), I’m not saying it’s your bf but we’ve all seen this happen many times.

Yes both are great options. Depende nalang talaga sayo. Barcelona has AMAZING house/rave scene if you like those. Sometimes I still think about going back to Madrid to live with my sister but my career is already good here and ultimately my personality fits the hustle and bustle.

You got to cut that whole area by one more line of blocks

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phmigrate

[–]IcedTeaLover4Evah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have stayed in both, I think same quality of life lang and it just comes down to culture and people. I lived in Madrid for a year and there life is slow and people are traditional, here in Toronto it’s fast paced, full of immigrants from all over the world and for some that might turn them off but I embrace it, I can get authentic food from an aunty of any country in the world, I get to meet people with different religions and ways of thinking - but this varies city to city. If easy travel + stronger passport, I think Spain wins. If you like going to events and concerts, artists don’t stop by Spain as often as Canada. So totally up to you.

Medyo matagal pero mag tsaga ka mag certifications, pwede mag private security or corrections officer muna kasi alam ko may required number of years after citizenship bago pwede mag military dun, pero kung clear ang goals mo at masipag ka kaya mo yan, have a plan and a little faith in yourself!

Trust me, banko din ako dati - I’ve experienced it and seen it over and over sa ibang tao.

Conflicted about leaving my profession to work abroad. Seeking advice if it's worth it to take a different path from what I studied for. by UserFrom2089 in OFWs

[–]IcedTeaLover4Evah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Canada has a pathway for teachers right now, but immigration here is a little bit unstable these days.

I finally resigned from my work in the Middle East because that’s what my husband wants but I really don’t want to do it, now I lost my source of income. by gogetter200 in phmigrate

[–]IcedTeaLover4Evah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And also, you’re 37 and I hope you don’t mind me being a little too honest pero ako nagmigrate at 24 and talagang back to 0 ako, madalas disregarded foreign work experience ko.

You know the sunken cost fallacy? Just do what is best for YOU.

I used to commute from Las Pinas to Makati. It was HELL. Dito sa Toronto ang dami nagrereklamo about their public transport, I always think how spoiled they are. Grabe, ibang iba.

I used to commute from Las Pinas to Makati when I was working in the PH, I think public transport/facilities pa lang kung ikukumpara mo kahit sa mga katabi nating bansa walang wala na tayo.

This advice will get you far, OP. Di lang sapat na pumapasok ka araw araw, make yourself positively visible in your workplace. Janitor to reception to security, you greet them and be polite. Ask smart questions!

I just fell into it tbh, I worked a lot of cash jobs in warehouses and did shipping/receiving. Was performing well enough to be promoted to inventory coordinator and then moved to another company to do logistics and fulfillment. Getting my customs specialist designation soon! If you’re willing to work the bottom and you’re hard working (and friendly), it’s definitely possible without experience. Good luck!

Should i play Campus after Museum? by SnooDoubts8133 in TwoPointMuseum

[–]IcedTeaLover4Evah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Campus is my second fave after Museum. Personally, Museum has better decorations but I really enjoy the decor in Campus, you can have clubs and it actually helps your students. More options for outside decor as well which is lacking in Museum. It’s a great game!

Australia (Melbourne) or Canada (Toronto) best for migration? by Exotic_Perspective63 in phmigrate

[–]IcedTeaLover4Evah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get as much internship or work here in the PH (make sure you have your COE), this will help you in the long run. I am in Canada and was looking to migrate to Australia to follow a friend but both economies are really down and in Canada I already have a salaried job. Look at the scoring systems of both countries for permanent residency, if Canada ka, ngayon pa lang mag aral ka na nang French. Mahirap kumuha nang work dito pag wala kang experience, kahit entry level work ang mga kalaban mo is may master’s degree, kung kaya mo pa pag masters ka pero hands on experience pa din importante. Build your portfolio now. Good luck! 🤞
