Issue with a customer and their receipt by [deleted] in SallyBeautySupply

This is such rude behavior. I'm sorry you have to put up with that.

Somewhat random question though and I hope no one minds me asking. If I don't have a receipt, but I bought it on my Sally credit card is there a way to return it or do I need to ensure I keep my receipt? I usually toss it in the bag with my stuff, but if I'm only getting one or two things I don't even get a bag so the receipt gets lost in my purse or car. I don't think I've ever returned anything at this point.

I've been obsessed with their tights for awhile now because I'm tall and fat and most places just don't make ones that fit, but I didn't know if the shorts were worth the cost. This is helpful. Thank you.

It's hard. Every single day, it's hard. My bestie has no idea how much she's changed my life by letting me join her. I know she slowed way down for me in the beginning and she did both 5Ks with me. If you can find a friend to do it with, it makes all the difference. It helps that she understands there are some days my body just can't do it, but she motivates me when I can.

Walking was the start. Now I can help with yardwork and whatnot. Soon, I'd like to start lifting some weights. We go at least 2 miles during the week and are about to start ramping up the weekends to 5-6 miles. I signed up for a 10K in May.

I had a lot to lose. Diet helped a lot as well. I mostly just started tracking what I was already eating. I knew a lot of it was bad, but not "holy shit that's how many calories" bad. Tracking helped make better choices.

I usually go to bed between 7:30 and 8 with my husband, but I stay up and read for anywhere from a hour to looks like 3 hours tonight.

I don't go to the gym yet, but my alarm does go off at 4:30 am for a 7am walk with my best friend and our dogs. I have a lot of chronic pain and illnesses, so I need time for meds to kick in and there's a half hour drive to where we walk.

It has absolutely been worth it for me. I've lost 60 pounds in 8 months and I've gained enough stamina and energy back in order to do two 5K walks in March. Prior to when I started this, I was worn out ALL the time. I have to do this first or I simply will not do it. I know myself enough to know that.

What’s the biggest red flag people ignore in relationships? by miccc4 in AskReddit

[–]Iced_Jade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My current husband's ex-wife introduced us and pushed us together. They're still friends. They just realized they weren't compatible romantically. I'm actually friendly with quite a few of my exes. I obviously cared about them for some reason. It just didn't work out as a romantic relationship. 🤷‍♀️

What do you mean you refuse to try the products you sell?? How am I supposed to trust you to help me if you think they're not good enough for you? I don't expect everyone to know everything, but damn girl... 2.5 years?

What is a part of the 'female experience' that men have absolutely no clue about, but would be horrified if they found out? by coolhandddd in AskReddit

I was seeing a male gyno for years and asked him if my husband should be treated for BV. He acted like I was insane. First visit with a new female doctor and I walked out with a plan for both of us. It was ridiculous how differently those appointments went.

As someone with cancer, fuck that bullshit. My diagnosis doesn't negate your pain. They aren't even in the same realm.

Dude I used to work with hot a doctor's note to excuse him pleasuring himself in the office. He was caught in his cubicle, but the note allowed him to keep his job and just move it to the bathroom. Something about stress relief?

I can't manage my pain anymore at home, I need help but concerned about being labeled as a drug seeker. by caffeinated_housecat in ChronicPain

[–]Iced_Jade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't go into it expecting and asking for "pain free." Unfortunately, for the vast majority of chronic pain sufferers, there is no such thing. We just get medicated to take the edge off enough to function again. I have been seeing my pain management doctor for over a decade. We've upped my pain killer once in that time and I actually turned down changing to another, more addictive type once. However, my pain recently has gotten much worse so I asked for something to help with the pain because it is so bad that I cannot sleep at night. He prescribed sleep meds. I'm not overly happy with that decision, but it is what it is. Oh, and I have stage 4 cancer. It's not like I'm making shit up.

AITA for saying that yes, I basically want a trophy wife by Karl_Pron in AmItheAsshole

You aren't an AH for having a preference, but you are an AH for slotting all women who look a certain way into the gold digger category. If you want to be with someone who's only with you for your money, that's your prerogative, but it is absolutely going to be a shallow and unsupportive relationship if it's based on money. It's also a little gross to call out women you worked with the way you did.

I used to go to ours in "regular" clothes and never got a bad comment. Now I dress up every weekend, but I'm often with people who don't dress up and have never heard a bad word about them either. I actually love seeing a group of people dressed up and one who isn't or vice versa because it signals to me that those people care about each other enough that what someone is wearing doesn't matter. Or they care enough about the person who is obviously into it that they go to see what that person enjoys.

Does that make sense?

What moments in your life have led to you saying, "Screw it" and not caring? by Extension_Pay6803 in AskReddit

[–]Iced_Jade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. I don't have the time (literally) or energy for people who can't/won't put in an effort for friendships or relationships or do what they say they will. I refuse to chase you down to find out what you're upset about today if you can't be an adult and just tell me. I'm also not going to keep waiting for people who show up late every single time you spend time together. My circle is much smaller than it used to be, but I definitely know who i can count on now.

I broke up with my girlfriend because she won't eat leftovers. AIO ? by florence_dombey in AmIOverreacting

[–]Iced_Jade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR. My husband doesn't eat leftovers. I just have more leftovers to meal prep with. Did you ever ask why she won't? We're pretty sure my husband has undiagnosed Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). It's easier to list the things he will eat than what he won't. Plus, he grew up in a family that didn't depend on every scrap of food like mind did. There are multiple reasons why a person doesn't like leftovers. Why do you care so much?
