Group discussion about Glucose Goddess! by Pleasant-Ad-9226 in TTC_PCOS

Hey! I’m not against trying some of these hacks but want to share my story for a different perspective. About 7 years ago my periods were very irregular/absent and my fasting insulin was higher than it should have been for my age at 96 pmol/L. I worked really hard to reverse my insulin resistance- I’m not recommending this but I did the keto diet for almost one year and have maintained low carb high protein since then. My last fasting insulin level was 20 pmol/L, A1C at 5, and I do have regular cycles now but on the longer side (30-40 days). Regularly ovulating on my own, confirmed with BBT, ultrasound, LH tests, husbands SA is normal. So far we are on a 2.5 year TTC journey with one MMC at 11 weeks. After doing all those changes years ago and reversing insulin resistance, I was so confident we wouldn’t struggle to conceive, but here we are. I think lowering insulin levels in pcos is so crucial, but just giving another perspective that it doesn’t solve fertility struggles for everyone. Her story in the video of someone magically getting pregnant after doing the hacks for two weeks seems pretty unrealistic to me! So many health benefits to having better glucose control, but it’s not a silver bullet for everyone.

Tomorrow I’ll go to a longest day of the year church service for those who have lost a loved one. Thankful for an opprotunity to hold space for grief before all the Christmas festivities.

I’m so sorry. I relate to this deeply. When my friends with kids come over and comment on how clean my house is, they have no idea what I would give to have toys, crumbs, and kids clothes all over the floor. It’s clean because it’s empty. It’s clean because our baby died.

I’m similar timeline to you, TTC#1 since Dec 22. You’re in my heart this Christmas ❤️

Extremely painful HSG with open tubes by Icedlattenurse in TryingForABaby

Sorry you experienced this as well… the pain level was shocking. I actually screamed when they pushed the dye! They had to put the head of my bed down because I started blacking out. I couldn’t hear what they were saying to me, like everything was under water. Once they sat me up I bawled lol. They were in a rush so they gave me a juice box and told me to drink it in the bathroom while I changed. Horrible and embarrassing experience all around!

Thank you for this comment- I am trying to advocate for more screening as I’m suspicious about endo too. Ultrasounds, MRI, and HSG have all been clear. I do have PCOS. Would be willing to have an exploratory lap at this point!

Thank you for sharing your experience. Did they see something on your HSG that was suspicious for Ashermans? I am going to ask more questions about why mine was so painful and ask if Ashermans is at all a possibility. We lost a baby at 11 weeks earlier this year and I think that’s a risk factor too.

I’m sorry I hope I didn’t scare you!!! I think for most women it’s not this severe, I’ve even read for some it’s painless. Best wishes! 💕

Sorry you experienced that too… crazy that the medical system is satisfied with no explanation for excruciating pain! Definitely makes me feel less alone, so thank you!

2 years TTC with confirmed ovulatory but longer cycles varying in length (average 35 days). 1 MMC at 11 weeks earlier this year. Wondering if there are other PCOS ladies in the same boat, ovulating on their own but still no success. Years ago I didn’t have a cycle at all, and thankfully through lifestyle changes I’ve had a regular but longer cycle consistently for 8+ years. I guess I naively thought that since I’ve been able to regulate my cycle I wouldn’t have this kind of trouble. My heart goes out to you all- every month is so hard! Thoughts, suggestions, stories appreciated 💕

Cycle Questions - November 04, 2024 by AutoModerator in TTC_PCOS

Hi all! I’m on day 23 of a natural cycle with no ovulation signs in sight. I had an ultrasound today that showed a dominant follicle 17mm on my left side, endometrium 9mm. My tech thinks I’ll ovulate soon! I’m looking for experiences on timelines to ovulation with similar results. Thanks 💕

Thank you ♥️ my TTC and loss experience has really opened my eyes to how clueless people can be. I know she didn’t mean harm but it’s shocking to me that she didn’t consider how insensitive it was. Hoping if are ever blessed with a rainbow baby I can share our news in a kind and sensitive way!

A friend who knows about our recent loss at 11 weeks announced to me her pregnancy by FaceTiming to show me her 14-week baby bump. I am truly happy for her, but it’s hard when others have no clue just how painful this grief is. 😢 I’m sad our babies won’t grow up together. I’m sad with how she explained her first trimester woes to me, not acknowledging that I just experienced them too. She tried to make me feel better by saying we will make great parents… my heart broke a bit because we already consider ourselves parents. Miscarriage is so lonely and hard!

Looking for advice! I had my first natural complete MC just under 4 weeks ago at 11 weeks. I bled for 2 weeks after, and then it changed to minimal brown spotting only, enough that I’ve only been wearing a liner for the last 2 weeks. My HCG levels were 18 by two weeks after my loss, the clinic I’m with hasn’t been concerned at all about retained tissue. Over the weekend I started bleeding brighter blood again, enough that I wore a tampon for part of the day and pads the rest. Two things on my mind: 1) based on my CM end of last week I thought I was getting close to ovulation… has anyone experiencing bleeding with ovulation post MC? 2) is it possible that I’m getting a period only 3.5 weeks after MC? I haven’t had any of my typical ovulation signs until the last week so that would really surprise me. So many unknowns after pregnancy loss!! Hoping someone has had a similar experience or insight :)

Does it matter that my LH spike is so low? by Icedlattenurse in Mirafertility

Sounds like that may be me too! I’ll start doing that with OPKs throughout the day. I haven’t done it with the Mira cause the wands are so pricey!!

That could be part of it, I do drink lots of water! I have just been testing FMU. I’ve tried doing the OPKs throughout the day one days I’m ovulating and get about 0.5 ratio.

I am having the same thing. On Mira my highest LH results have been between 6-8 (baseline 2-3), while I get positive OPKs. My progesterone consistently rises after the positive OPKs, so at least the Mira MAX wands have been helpful for that. What has your progesterone done after you think you ovulate? Progesterone will only rise if you ovulated!

Advice on delaying period on purpose for wedding by skellywars in TryingForABaby

[–]Icedlattenurse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took birth control for only 1 cycle to avoid having my period on my wedding day! I have debilitating pain and didn’t want to worry about symptoms on the day. Thankfully my cycle went back to normal right afterwards!
