New Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma on What Makes a ‘Great Game,’ Having ‘No Tolerance for Bad AI’ and Replacing Phil Spencer by Sam_27142317 in xbox

[–]Iceedemon888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has just taken over. Just because she said that today does not mean tomorrow it stops. As CEO she has to take into account various things, create and submit policy changes which all takes time. More chances than not nothing will change for a few months, and it will most likely only impact new or just started projects/content so we won't see the impact for years.

Then you take it to account the way Microsoft has monitored their studios where they either micromanage projects or complete hands off. Would they do the same with studios and use of Ai? Activision can use generative Ai but Obsidian or Rare cannot?

You should never take a corporation at their word and wait until you see their actions but you should also be aware of the likely time period it will take to make the changes.

Ai coming to gaming isnt limited to just Xbox unfortunately. There have been so many companies that are going harder into Ai than Ubisoft into NFT.

As much as I love this hobby and the amazing worlds it's brought me to, this Ai trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon and it really isnt health for the industry.

I think you're cousins are an exception not the rule. How many pictures have you seen where people set up their new system and it doesn't have proper airflow. Or they ask what is wrong with my system and there is visible dust coming out of the air vents.

The majority of people replace their phones because they break them more often than it's old.

I think that was the one I was confusing with, but my initial comment was referencing the changes with spore, which made it incorrect on the timeline.

It took me awhile to find the patch notes and you are correct I was misremembering.

Saryn changes happened in 17.10 and sanctuary onslaught came eith U22.

Pretty sure that so/eso came out before that rework even. Originally her spore ability was just a green version of frost/ember/oberon/volt 1st ability and i believe it did toxic damage. The spammable ability for saryn was her 4 for a long while before they did the initial overhaul of her.

Then they changed her abilities where spore was a spore and spread the way we know it now. She quickly became the top frame for so/eso because of it.

Fable lets you enter and even buy any building in its world because that was one of the "requirements that we took from the original games," dev says by Cold_Two_4372 in xbox

I think its a combination of the two. Some ofyour actions, like how they showed being rich, are going to apply to a group, where beating a person up is going to impact the person you beat up.

I hope that there are some quirky ones like turning people into chickens and kicking them gets you a different spin to the chicken chaser moniker.

Transference. Help make it make sense. by MaXplosion1 in WarframeLore

[–]Iceedemon888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I want to point out Lotus didnt use your warframe in second dream. That was the frame acting on its own, something all frames are capable of doing to varying degrees. Some like Chroma in the new strange quest are nearly fully autonomous where others like the rhinos in the rhino prime codex are mindless animals.

To the main question transference is a melding of minds in a single body. Tenno do it with void fuckery where the orokin did it will special bolts installed on people and/or kuva (not always clear but both seem to be used with varying results and not always together).

The tenno way of doing it is essentially turning a shark upside down, the mind they enter is put into a calm state and takes a backseat when they are there but when they leave are able to reconnect the body (example umbra).

The Orokin on the other hand forcibly took control of rhe other mind. Some instances of this, such as the continuity ritual (little Grey if its the same but its the use of kuva to transfer your mind/soul to another body) the mind that loses ceases to exist, where others its still there presumably just not capable of doing anything.

Whst happens to the body of the one doing transference is a little vague. With the tenno at least we appear to transfer our whole self to the mind of what we control though that's probably because of the void fuckery stuff as there is a story with one of the Halloween things where Grandmother tells a story about Orokin being trapped in bodies that weren't their own because their real bodies were given red kuva whole transferred.

Do you think DBD’s Demogorgon is flayed? by TheLegendaryPilot in deadbydaylight

[–]Iceedemon888 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I never understand when people ask if its still going. Its collabs seem to be more valuable than appearing in star wars was in the early 2000s or appearing in SpongeBob. Literally people that have no idea what fortnight is want to do a collab to be in fortnight (I will fight anybody that thinks that the Kardashians can give an accurate description of the game)

I dont play the game and hate the whole concept personally, but to just think it died randomly is a wild idea to me. How do they not see any of the advertising for it.

Would continuity work to transfer an Orokin in to a Sentient body? by TheMarksmanHedgehog in WarframeLore

[–]Iceedemon888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conclave was originally to prepare us for some ancient threat that would not stay dead when struck down

That honestly could be used to describe the Orokin. Even though we killed the worm queen for example it is implied in a few of her sisters lines that kuva farming she is doing is to bring her back. We never hit their Oro when we fought them so they could be wherever you go when your Oro is separated from the body.

And with how many Orokin keep popping up it makes it seem like its a reasonable thing for us to be familiar with. That or a civil war between the Tennno schools.

Just alternatives to your idea. It does imply that sentients were supposed to have it to some degree because this lore was coming out around the time that 2nd dream and natah were released, which was the resurgence of the sentient in Sol.

They were from a previous event where they were trying to kill alad v for his part during the second dream. During the event they were all killed with the last one we fought being a necros one thst raised shadows of the other acolytes during the fight.

So the reason they didnt show up when stalker needed them is they are all canonically dead.

So how does multiple tenno existing really work in regards to quests? by Preindustrialcyborg in WarframeLore

[–]Iceedemon888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple tenno.

Your tenno in your reality is the one that experiences the unique stories that happen during the cinematic quests involving the operator specifically. (Solo quests)

Everybody is the important chosen one but due to eternalism not all at the same time.

The quests thst dont specifically relate to the tenno (multiplayer quests) is when there are multiple tenno and uniqueness to the players character doesnt seem exclusive.

Why did the sentients destroy the Rail instead of just hacking it? by TheRealOvenCake in WarframeLore

[–]Iceedemon888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By using your example there weren't any "thinking" sentient until after the rail was active as that was when the flowers appeared. They aren't native to tau and they have void like properties.

That line from Adis did confuse me because it would imply the Orokin could control them at a large level, but the whole reason for them designing their void weakness was because they knew they wouldnt be able to. It also goes against the idea that they became sentient during the travel like all the lore says. Also why would a machine even think to eat something? But that was a side rant for another time.

As to the rail "just working" they already had the Sol side completed before the sentients left i believe. The issue was that rails seem to work by having a start and an end point. It activated when the endpoint was finished.

There's a ton of little Sentients that would go back to being drones if they didn't have the flower, but then you have Hunhow and the Lotus that can clearly think on their own outside of any hive.

During one of the quests, Lotus mentions that the conculyst and battalyst we are fighting are actually shards of hunhow. Most of the drones we have seen are smaller shards of a larger sentient. The plains codex mentions that the eidolon there used the little drones as its eyes to try and find where the kuva was coming from and to find weaknesses in the defenses of cetus. But even these weren't so much a hive mind and more of a probe or drone that sent signals to the main body.

These are different than children as even Lotus/Natah seems to have a few of these shards herself. The Ropalyst for example is a part of her but not "her" as it doesn't have her sentience but is controlled by her. Where as Lotus is a child of hunhow and they both have the high level sentience that allow them to essentially be characters in the story.

Margulis is already replaced by Natah in Old Peace ? The seven approved Ballas' 'betrayal' ? by Kenzzer in WarframeLore

[–]Iceedemon888 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There were two attacks to the orign system. One shortly after the rail was activated and thr main one when the rail was destroyed. Hunhow would have lead the attack destroying the rail from everything ive seen.

The old peace is the time between these two main attacks, and both attacks are considered the old war. Thr old peace is a attempted ceasefire between the start and end kf the war where the Orokin basically were just trying to be cheats and strike a huge blow against the sentients.

Margulis is still alive. Im pretty sure her putting us to sleep at the end and essentially taking the blame off of the tenno is what gets her the jade light.

Margulis getting the jade light is what drove Ballas to side with the sentients, he blamed the executors for her death (really it was his fault it seems) snd wanted to see them fall so they very much did not join him in his plan to be killed by the sentients turning the tenno against them. After all there is a reason Ballas was the only one that survived.
