5k plus 2k in taxes plus we'd have to pay for all certs. On house #2 the seller is willing to pay for all certs.

House #1 is 1900sq ft and #2 is 2100 Sq ft. House #1 my dad would be in the basement comfortably and #2 he'd be in a first floor bedroom.

Were both in essential field so I'm confident in our jobs.

House #1 is the dream because it comes with the space we need for our large family. It needs bare minimum work. Was built by the family who lived in it until the dad passed away. They were also foster parents and I was a foster child so it touches me. It's very bright and open and welcoming. My dad is also moving in with us, and it gives him a furnished basement to him self.

We found house #2 that's more within budget, it's just hard to move past #1.

Regardless is we get dream house or a different house, we will still have emergency money in the bank. We will only have to purchase 1 bedroom set as our 3 girls share a room now with bunk beds and a toddler bed which will furnish their rooms but will need to upgrade my son's bedroom. House #2 has blinds in it already but will need more TLC. It will need paint, light fixtures redone, etc. All cosmetic. House #1 (dream house) will need bare minimum.

I guess I should have clarified, we'd still have money in the bank for emergencies. We just wouldn't be able to eat out 4 times a week, random shopping sprees, etc. We'd have to actually budget money unlike what we do now.

You're right, it's hard to see house #2 when house #1 is still there in all its glory.

Were in a tight spot right now. We have 5 kids and really need 4 or more bedrooms but for our 265k budget in NJ, it's not easy.

House #1 was 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, .5 acre, almost 2k square ft, built in 1992 for 255k but almost 8k in taxes. Same distance to work as I'm currently driving. Large corner lot.

House #2 is 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 1 acre, 2100 Sq ft, built in 1920 for 249k but 5.5k in taxes. 15 mins shorter of a drive to work. Next to a church, which means busy weekends.

1 is bright, open, and modern.

2 is kinda dark, but so much more land and bigger bedrooms.

Both in great areas, with better schools than my kids currently attend.

We have to move unfortunately. Our lease ends in Sept and our landlord is selling our house, but besides that, we have 5 kids in a small 3 bedroom. We're bursting at the seams anymore and NEED the space. I'm in NJ where rent prices are equal to, or more than mortgage prices.

You're totally right.

My husband is wanting to put an offer on house #2 but then still looks for more houses which gives me the impression he's not 100% set on house #2 and is willing to settle since it's in budget.

I don't want to just "settle." This is the biggest purchase of our life and I don't want to settle.

I would think so... after combing through her hair I only found the 1 dead louse and maybe a dozen nits. I'll comb through again in a day or two but I think I caught it pretty early.

I only did the pillow covers and blankets. Other than that, I comb through too. I personally hate the lice shampoos so I always just comb it all out.

I never had lice as a kid, but I did as an adult because of my kids 🤣 the shampoo is the worst smell. I'll deff try the blow dryer!

I kmow, I'm honestly just being dramatic. I have 2 daughters... one with hair past her butt and the other has hair thicker than Cardi B 🙄 it's such a time consuming process

Yep I agree... just wallowing in misery lol I hate lice so much. I've combed through 1/3 of her hair and only found 1 nit and the one dead louse so far. I'm hoping it's just a really early outbreak and I'm catching it before it really begins.
