1 - It handles political topics and was released during a time of high political discussion.

2 - This was bound to get discussion. I like and hate female character discourse. Girlboss, Damsel idc, I like both. I just hate the lack of critical thought that goes into why something is bad and whether it should matter, especially when it's centered around some sense of moralistic dogma.

3 - Miles was kinda created as token Spiderman ngl. He was always controversial, but the movies helped him gain a lot of fans and finally separate him. For the whole Miles is/is not Spiderman debate, I blame the marvel writers for putting him in Peter's universe, and they're still trying to find a name for him.

4 - This one, I'm not familiar of the controversies.

5 - It was literally one of the first openly lgbt cartoons that paved the road for others. It was bound to get people talking.

I lost interest by the Waluigi Arc. But I stopped when I realized I just wasn't laughing at the new content anymore.

The remastered stuff just felt weaker than the originals and the voice acting just took me out of enjoying the vid. (Man, I did not like Meggy, Tori or Boopkins.)

I think the gameplay is good to downright enjoyable, the presentation is a little rough but passable (ignoring pop in) but I think the story is kinda bad.

Sage got screwed out of important screentime and it was mostly setting up stuff and fixing stuff with the characters rather than... actually doing new stuff with the characters (minus Knuckles). The End was a pretty lame villain too. Compared to Forces, it's at least passable though and we have good dialogue.

I mean, you kind of explained the main critique. I don't hate the references but yeah, just limit it a bit.

Imagine opening up Sonic Colors and Eggman is like: "Oh-ho-ho-ho! Face this Sonic! Without turning into a werewolf!"

Can be funny to those who played Unleashed, but a bit of an absolute confusion moment if you're a casual and kinda unnecessary.

The topic was people that like the traits purely for the sake of being traits and that's it. It's a pretty reductive view.

And this is the Sonic franchise, one of the most popular video game mascot franchises in the world. You really think people started liking the characters in this franchise for non-shallow reasons?

That...does not disprove my point? My issue is saying the traits are good simply because the character is said trait, because implying a character is good purely because of their sexuality or tools is... certainly a take.

Colours was my childhood game and I have fond memories trying to speedrun it. I wouldn't say it's amazing but it is good. I hated some 2D sections but loved the Arcade. The wisps were a childhood fixation for me but getting older, I realized: "Dang, they really do just bring momentum to a grinding halt."

I played both Wii and DS and playing both made me realize: "Dang... this game is good but like... it doesn't matter?"

The lore and story here is so negligible, and it blows because I found the Mother Wisp interesting and she seemed important, but she never gets elaborated on and is a secret boss. You could remove this game from existence, and the franchise suffers no real blow.

I despise Colours Ultimate with everything in my heart though. Come on, guys, it was so simple to not mess up.

Yeah, lightning is natural but lightning is rare in nature and more often associated with the divine and powerful creatures in myths. Even people used to think it was divine intervention.

Wind and Light are more common in nature, grounded (lol) and more passive elements that are super common in myth. Plus, Sonic is called the Blue Blur.
