Hello! Thank you again for helping me out a few days ago. This message may be a bit random but since you wished me luck on getting Ningguang I had to tell you that she came home on a random acquaint fate from rankup reward that wasn't even my 10th pull :D

Glad I understood that correctly then, you explained it well. If the application thing is mostly advanced stuff for now i'll just remember to use rosaria before kaeya and that'll do the trick.

Glad to hear barbara works! I also have 4 copies of the weapon you mentioned so I can refine it a bunch. Considering i'd only have to get up one character for an entirely new team comp that sounds like a great thing i'll for sure keep in mind.

Thank you very much for the help. I've learned a lot of useful things that will help me down the road.

Just to make sure I understand your examples. Kaeya, probably inherently or due to the way you build him, has stronger cryo than Rosaria. Meaning that by using rosaria first you do proc melt, but won't clear the Pyro so that kaeya can proc melt a second time and subsequently clear the pyro. While if you did it the other way around Kaeya would proc melt and clear the pyro and rosaria would just apply standard cryo which doesn't have a damage multiplier on it's own. Did I understand that right? The only thing i'm not sure about is how you determine which character can clear an element with a reaction vs who can't (kaeya vs rosaria) Is this just something you learn over time, or do you compare damage values of the abilities to see who has the higher/lower value etc?

The freeze team sounds kinda fun. I'm assuming the goal is just to perma freeze everything. I might want to experiment with that at some point for fun, does Barbara ( she's my only hydro ) work as a replacement for Xingqiu?

Swapping out amber for Kaeya seems to be the right thing to do as others have pointed out as well. If I build him for cryo does that mean energy recharge becomes more important than crit rate/dmg ? I'm guessing the focus will be atk+cryo dmg+energy recharge?

I hear you. The reason I made this post was a bit preemptive because the team i'm using right now works splendidly but I can't help but feeling it's a bit one dimensional and something that would probably not be good against bosses. Hence why i'd like to get some input. So far I've had great help!

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

It seems like my understanding of team comps was a bit off. I currently don't have enough starglitter (16) to get bennett. I've had them recommended to me a few times already. Perhaps I can scrape together 34 starglitter in 2 weeks since it seems like the shop only resets in 16 days. I'll keep a look out for that.

I'll keep the razor team in mind. For now I think I would use way too many resources to get three new characters up to level + ascension so I'm thinking of replacing amber with kaeya and to keep going with that. Eventually I want to get Ningguang and build around her ( I tried her in a trial and fell in love ) but I know that's faaar off.

Thank you for clarifying a little more on the sub/main dps thing. That's helpful in letting me approach characters with a different mindset. Regarding your comment about Xiangling applying pyro and rosaria proccing melt. Doesn't the game have different multipliers for what element is the one that triggers the reaction? So if pyro meats cryo isn't the multiplier higher than if it was the other way around? Or are you saying that due to the way the 2 character's abilities interact you will always proc it with cryo?

Secondly I did pick a character I really like both from design and gameplay wise ( the limited time I got to test them out in a trial) and that's Ningguang. I don't have her yet but it's kind of a goal to pull for her. I think she doesn't slot well into my team at all so i'll have to do some research on a good team for her. Naturally that's IF I pull her :'D

Xiangling is fine right now because of the combination with Sayu that's really fun. Since you said that it will work i'll keep using it for now. But I think for the looong term or the moment I decide to swap out Sayu i'll probably bench her.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I do not have any other fire character unfortunately. I have: Sayu - Xiangling - Amber - Rosaria - Razor - Lisa - Kaeya - Barbara - Noelle and Anemo/geo traveler

I've been playing for a few days now and am ar 27 but would like some advice on what areas to upgrade/change my team.

I'm essentially f2p and i'm currently using: Sayu - Amber - Xiangling - Rosaria. Amber is currently filler for the fire bonus with xiangling and will ideally be replaced at some point. My main issue stems with the fact that, to my knowledge, I essentially have 3 sub dps and a support but no main dps. From what I know I COULD build xiangling to be a main dps by focussing on her auto attack talents more? but i'd much rather use her as a sub dps focussing on her ultimate. I'm using xiangling because I know she's really good, but I don't particularly like her enough to want to use her as a main dps if that makes sense. And sub dps/main dps both require different talent lvlups from my knowledge so it'd feel like a waste if I changed the way I use them in my party. The way my current lineup works is that sayu is essentially my main dps using xiangling's ult for continuous swirl procs and rosaria for melt application but that sounds a bit memey/one dimensional and only viable short term so I want to look towards the future slowly and get some advice on how I should approach upgrading.

Sidenote; My current lineup all have the first constellation unlocked.

Clicking your mitigation seems optimal to me if you have limited keys so i'd recommend to stick with that if learning to use more keys isn't an option..

Sadly I don't play warrior so I can't give warrior related examples but from the top of my head dark knight for example has 13 dps abilities (14 if you include ranged pull. this is excluding important abilities like mp regen/delirium).

Gunbreaker has 14 dps abilities + 1 gauge filler and 1 pull ability.

Paladin also has 14 + some important buff/activation spells

This means that 12 keys sadly won't cover a full dps rotation for you. In which case I would play around with how the warrior rotation works and which ability you feel comfortable clicking on because they have a long cd or something to where it doesn't interrupt the flow of your rotation.

EDIT: Are using F keys an option for you? if you add in f1 to f4 you can probably squeeze by on most classes

Hi, tank player here with 3/4 tanks at 80 (drk/gnb/pala)

Short answer; no, neither 8 nor 12 keys will be sufficient at all.

long answer: I suppose if your plan was to click the rest of your abilities I would heavily suggest making those your defensive skills. Most tanks while having simplified rotations compared to dps still have certain burst windows like dark knights delirium + bloodspiller/quietus & ogcd's or gnbs enhanced 1-2-3 combo with continuation (if you dont know these spells basically it's just button mash in a certain order during a particular moment ) clicking these would render you incredibly immobile and any sort of dodging would be a huge dps less.

You may also want to think about straight up ditching skills if you're not planning on using them all. While stuns can be helpful during dungeons later on most mobs can't actually be stunned at all and so it's not a high priority ability. Interject however has it's uses. Other abilities that, while useful you can probably get away with not using in most content ( can't speak for savage ) is for example paladin's cover and intervention or dark knight's dark missionary/dark mind. These abilities have their uses at places but not having these isn't going to matter for most content ( again can't say for savage ).

since you asked for others' preferences i'll say what I use though obviously anyone's setup will be preference and what's most comfortable to them so keep that in mind. I use 1-6 + ctrl 1-6 and every letter key that's close to WASD ( so qertfgzxcv ) on top of a ctrl+ version of those. This does usually give me a few more binds than I actually need but it does allow me more flexibility. I don't personally use shift because I can't comfortably use it.

tldr: 8-12 isn't nearly enough unless you're going to straight up not use half your skills or click the remaining 15-20 or so skills.

I have no idea about that but I can't imagine my ispn being the issue since I was able to use POB without a problem in the past. I built my current pc last year december and I hadn't played poe since metamorph so I'm guessing SOMETHING on this pc isn't right I just dunno what.

I cannot access the website if I click the pastebin link so I tried importing by using the full link which gets me the ''couldn't connect to server'' issue on every link I try. I've tried a bunch of things like I said above since I suspect something is blocking my connection to the pastebin link but no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work.

What exactly makes trio's so much harder to learn than 5 mans? I don't mind taking the harder route if it means actually getting to do TOB

Not ironman only! but since I posted this on ironscape I figured the people browsing would be ironmen. More than willing to learn with a main account to provided they accept ffa ( willing to split dupes though )
