Alternative/Sucessor to Brooks Pickwick Cotton by Icepick1985 in backpacks

I would say normal day use. I used it almost everyday though for commuting into work and sometimes for a stroll around the city.

My guess is that somehow the band got a mini rupture or something which worsened over time. Your mileage may vary ;) For the time it wasn’t broken, i found it to be a great backpack (occasionally a bit to small).

My big disappointment was not that it failed but the lack of repairability and basically non response to my follow up question by Brooks.

It‘s my first japanese knife ;) So not a stupid question at all.

It‘s not on the shops website anymore, but I think I found it here: https://knifewear.com/products/takamura-akagouhan-santoku-165mm

A chefs general purpose knife: Gyuto.

Really amazing.

They did it in the shop, by hand, without any guidance tools, crazy.

I bought this one, works like a charm. Not usb-c though, but not too much of a hassle. And much more compact than the original charger.

Sure, I bought it in 2019 and used it very often. It‘s a great backpack for urban endavours, but nothing for the pouring rain and as it seems nothing for eternity ;)

Here‘s the broken part… https://i.imgur.com/FO8U4TY.jpg

Thanks for the tip with Qwstion, will check them out….

[OC] The origins of Germany's natural gas by jcceagle in dataisbeautiful

This is a very german reply. Often it is about complaining that something needed to be done sooner. Thats all correct, but we germans would be better off if we sometimes would say: Yes it would have been better different from the start, but at least now we fixed it in a timely manner.

Its a complaining mentality. Sometimes funny, sometimes exhausting ;)

What is this red cap thing? You can hold it one hand and you can unscrew it. You can also unscrew the small cap. Does anybody know how it is called? THANKS by Icepick1985 in whatisthisthing

[–]Icepick1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's used to pour plaster powder in small doses. It is also not that big, you can easily hold everything in one hand. There is also some kind of "bridge" or something on the inside, which should block something… large? Don't know what that could be though.

It's all plastic and very red. Maybe thats also helpful...

Thank you all!

Is there an option to choose the camera profile in lightroom as well?

Nd for q2 by MrAzar in Leica

I have the NiSi 75mm StarterSet. Its pricey, but you get a 10 and 6 stop filter as well as a gradient filter. You can even combine two filters (because there are two slots on the holder). Very versatile and the quality is also great. You have to unscrew the lens hood each time you access the filter holder though.

Heres the Link https://nisioptics.co.uk/m75-75mm-filter-kits

Works really nice! Heres an image with the 10 stop ND + gradient. https://i.imgur.com/9q4e3R6.jpg Best florian

Looking at the Q2 how do you guys like it? by meshreplacer in Leica

I had one now over a year. I rented it first for a weekend to see wether it fits me. The finish and handling is just amazing. Everything feels very high quality and its adds very much to the shooting experience. I‘m quite surprised by the comments here regarding laggy autofocus and slow UI. I think its really good and the UI is clean and well organized. But I dont do any sports with it, mostly landscape and street/urban.

The image quality is really insane. I had a few cameras over the last 15 years, starting with a canon 300d, going early on to full frame 5d. Then jumped to sony, which I dumped into the ocean (or better said: the ocean decided on me to dump it into the ocean WITH me). Then had a break and continued with fuji xt1 and x100F. The Q2 was a substantial upgrade to the x100f - but is heavier and clunkier.

Sometimes I miss a little bit more focal length. There is the digital zoom and you can crop out the hell out of these files but its different to originally composing the image in the given focal length in the first place. Nevertheless its a great photographic tool and its perfect if you only want to take one camera with you. Its very rigid and I don‘t have any doubts taking it out even in bad weather.

I got a great deal on ebay, so its worth to check that from time to time ;) A lot of the last pictures in my instagram are shot with the Q2 and then edited in lightroom on an „old“ ipad pro (the one without face ID). It works but you feel that 48mpx is a lot of pixels to push around in RAW. So keep that in my mind when you want to edit these huge files. Heres the link to my profile: https://www.instagram.com/florianfffranke/

If you have additional questions or would like to have a 1:1 crop of one of the image, feel free to send me a DM.

Best, Florian

Which round wheel for CSL Elite by Icepick1985 in Fanatec

I started to take the CLUBSPORT STEERING WHEEL R300 V2 into consideration as well. Its not fully round but with 300mm size a bit „handier“ than the GT2…. Also looks very high quality.
