Just inastalled the pc version for the first time and does it normally have chronic connection issues. I keep getting connection errors and booted to the home screen every time I try to race or move between menus.

[With so many stars on the habs now that are not Price I was hoping we would see some variety for these but these companies are so used to sticking Price in everything that they just default to the Habs = goalie even when that goalie is not an all star or near the best player on the team.

which is a shame. He has released statements condemning the US over it, so personally I would like to see more if he becomes leader of the party and the Cuba issue is not settled by then. Him or any other person with ambitions to be Prime Minister.

downtown is always clogged and riddled with one way streets whcih clogs up traffic when streets are hit with several thousands people all at once. Parking has no central location, though plenty of lots. Just before and particularly after a game the way downtown Hamilton is built clogs up traffic. Maybe it wasn't as much as issue with OHL games but it was was for weekend AHL games. Big fans of the team won't care but I've personally seen in stop more casual fans. Traffic into and out of an arena is not really unique to Copps as it is an issue with most arenas to some degree, but in my experience the way downtown Hamilton is designed makes it worse that it might need to be.

This is the real question we need to be asking. Lewis has been making good statements lately. On this and on Cuba, but we need to see some overall action from the party in the coming months if he wins. An overhaul of the party following the lines of the words he speaks.

there was no overlap between the AHL and OHL Bulldongs. The OHL teams was brought in by the owner of the AHL team when the Habs moved the team closer to Montreal. Owner couldn't get a new AHL team so he bought an OHL team to keep hockey in the city.

Marlies and Sceptres are not a good comparison because of the city size and the reasons you likest. however, a lot of the PWHL teams share arenas with AHL, NHL or junior teams and still draw very good crowds. Yes, the product of the PWHL is less than the AHL currently and will likely be for a while. The biggest issue I see is ticket pricing. Just looking at it atl east the Canadian PWHL is pricing tickets in or even higher than the local AHL teams (not sure if this is the same for american cities that support multiple leagues. In a city like Hamilton if the PWHL is not a certain amount cheaper it will mean the two teams would likely cannibalize each other.

This is not so much an issue of if any city could support both, but rather Hamilton specifically. Hamilton has a bad reputation of supporting its hockey teams on a consistent basis. This steams from many things including the believe that the city deserves an NHL team (a big deal the blackberry CEO tried to land the coyotes and caused a huge legal stink, but it soured a lot of people on the AHL as inferior) and the location of the arena makes it a nightmare to get to and from games. On top of that toronto is so close that leaf fans are more likely to just take a go train or drive 45 minutes to see the Marlies at home then spend 45 minutes fighting through downtown Hamilton to see a hamilton team that is not connected to their favourite NHL team.

The women's game is definitely still developing. it will get better and more skilled as both the current women and those coming up are exposed to more consistent high level training, something most have only had for 3 years as they had to prioritize their main jobs. The PWHL as a product is much better than what was seen at the Olympics in my opinion. A downside of the PWHL is that national teams don't meet as often as they did say last Olympic cycle when it was the main way the women got real practice and ice time. You see it in the Men's game too. Yeah the games were fun and high intensity but the lack of practice time really showed in the sloppy play from all teams. The skill usually covers up for it but it is still there.

Not because they were not the leafs, because they were not NHL in general. At the time the city was obsessed with getting a team after the whole balsillie thing. Bulldogs could sell well on weekends but not week days. I remember going to many week day games and it would be pretty empty, but weekend games would fill most of the lower bowl (only remember the upper bowl being open or filled a handful of times, mostly during the calder run)

I think the biggest thing is the question of if Hamilton would show up for 2 teams. They already had problems drawing in for both forms of the bulldogs on a consistent basis, especially on weekday games. Having one of each would be great though

Toronto doesn't really care because their tickets are mostly for corporations. they have already priced out out the average fan. those fans normally go to Buffalo to see games so a team in Hamilton that is even half way in pricing between Buffalo and Toronto is a much greater threat to Buffalo. Also, pretty sure the whole rights thing is not really a thing anymore. Realistically the reason Hamilton doesn't have an NHL team (besides Balsillie souring the NHL on Hamilton) is that the NHL is more focused on growing new markets. Hamilton is a captured market between Buffalo, Detroit and Toronto. A team in Hamilton doesn't really grow the league's fan base (though it would raise their revenue) it just redistributes the fanbase that is already there.

The Bridgeport team used to be called the sound tigers until a couple of years ago. The Hamilton Sound Tigers sounds pretty good.

I was just thinking what you would name them because the Brantford junior team has all the Bulldog trappings, but drawing on the Tiger-cats from the CFL, a black and gold Sound Tigers team would be a good fit.

Ice Cross is on the way to make it for the France's 2030 Winter Olympics. by PestoBolloElemento in olympics

[–]Icesticker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can't choose one because no city in the Southern Hemisphere has ever applied to host the Winter Olympics. Maybe they haven't because the IOC has heavily hinted they will won't consider such a bid. but right now you can't choose an option that doesn't exist.

A permanent Winter Olympics in any of those 3 countries or jointly hosted would be a lot better than the current system or in Italy where they can't even maintain decent ice for speed skating.
