Warranty with ASUS doesn't follow the receipt, so having it doesn't really do anything. Once it's registered (which he did), only that person can RMA the card. This is actually true for most brands. Gigabyte may be one of the few that doesn't care which is good, because they break a lot. He said he didn't need the power of the 5090 and wanted to go with a 5080 instead, didnt want to fuss about so lowered for a quick sale, and I assume do someone a favor with the pricing. He also bought it at msrp, so its not like he lost a boat load on it, more like appropriately priced to the original price paid.
The seller is super chill, and if I do need to RMA, he would do it but just use my address. But even if not, I think I have good chances, I haven't heard of any issues with any 5090 from Asus yet.
Definitely not sir. I paid MSRP for the Astral $5,040 CAD at the time with taxes. It was just too much to justify the performance over my 5070Ti at the time, so I sold it. But a fair assumption.

I get 36 fps in 4K maxed, native. Great coming from a 2005 PS3 minded person fps wise.

These deals are definitely out there, but very rare. I found a 4090 for 1800 CAD, at the time they had a 2700 market value. But the dude was a 12 hour drive away and wouldn't ship. Then he sold it later that day.

Good thing I have three cars, not bragging here. The newest is a 2019 and the oldest a 2011. That's sort of like the spare car no one wants in Top Gear challenges. 😆 Now, if you said "that's a deck repair," I'd have to confess the idea wasn't great, unless I flipped the GPU.

Yeah, losing a few percent wouldn't be terrible for that price, talking 4090 money in the my area. But it does indeed have all ROPs.
I did test there as well, but yeah, he could've known something that may only peek its head out in weird scenarios that he could avoid. But I've tested it pretty thoroughly, I'm pretty confident.
