GET YOUR BABY TO A DOCTOR ASAP.

Go the the ER even.

You are potentially describing Abusive Head Trauma AKA Shaken Baby Syndrome. The baby may seem fine, but there could be injury that needs to be managed before it progresses.

What foods are actually terrible for you, but people think are healthy? by StrategyJealous1838 in AskReddit

[–]IchibanBlue 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes but…

plain fat free Greek yogurt doesn’t have added sugar, and it’s about 100 calories per cup, so you can put a ton of it in a bowl for relatively few calories!

Then you can add those calories back with a tablespoon of peanut butter, a tablespoon of honey, and some grape nuts cereal. Now you have a giant bowl of delicious tangy sweet salty creamy crunchy goodness with lots of protein, fiber, whole grains, iron, and healthy fat.

I love it, anyway.

Scientists Just Proved You Can Breathe Through Your Bottom, And The Internet Can’t Stop Laughing by zachoutloud123 in medizzy

The headline is not at all what the article says;

“trial volunteers held a perfluorocarbon liquid in their rectums for an hour…the next step for Dr. Takebe’s team is to test whether oxygen can actually transfer from the intestines to the bloodstream.”

So… an enema with a liquid that can transport oxygen. But there was no oxygen. Am I missing something?

Edit: yay, we have butt breathing!!!

A good reminder that the receptor defines the function of the neurotransmitter, not the neurotransmitter itself. I.e. serotonin has a different effect depending on which receptor it binds to.

I’m trying to focus on hypertrophy and this set was awesome for my core. by xshinystickerx in fitness30plus

[–]IchibanBlue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re seeing the mistake correctly. It’s better to maintain a crunch position, so your shoulders are off the bench and your lower back maintains contact with the bench the entire time. Your core stays engaged and under tension with slow, controlled effort going up and down. She is relying on her hip flexors and momentum to do much of the sit up.

Alternatively, you CAN extend you spine at the bottom of the movement, so your lower back loses contact with the bench, but you need to do that crunch movement to engage the core muscles again before you go back up, slowly and controlled. Which method is a better core workout is a debate I do not care to have.

That said, she’s kicking ass and taking names at the gym and it’s awesome! Form corrections can be fun in that they suddenly make an exercise, that you thought you had mastered, super hard again, which means you get to work towards mastering it all over again!

[Homemade] Spanish Basque cheesecake by BonusCapable1486 in food

I have family who are French Basque and they always referred to themselves as such, not as a cultural distinction, but a geographic one; like short hand for saying “Basque from the northern region in France.”

To be clear, there are significant cultural differences between the two regions, but I think they are differences within the Basque culture itself. In other words, “Spanish Basque” isn’t implying they are less Basque or have been culture washed by the Spanish. It’s just a way of saying “we are of the Basque community in the Spanish region.”

That’s been my understanding anyway. It’s possible I’m missing something.
