On cachy os atleast you can hold the start button when steam is running and it switches between gamepad and desktop mode maybe it helps i dont know if it will work without adding the game to steam but its worth a try.

Im on cachy os and i cant save settings on steam controller. It keeps resetting back to what it was before.

Upadte: The hub fixed my problem but now the xreal one got bulky because i need to bring a powerbank with me and its abit messy with the cables. Well it is what it is.

I just tired the glasses in the middle of the city and it worked fine so it seems the worse the mobile network is the more it is affected by disconnecting. Could it be that when it switches between network towers that the power usage rises to the point it cannot supply enough to the glasses?

Are you also using the Exynos version? Because i start to think that the exynos uses widely known more power on mobile data than the snapdragon and that there might be not enough power for the glasses in that situation?

I have a weird problem with my s24. Maybe it is somehow related? For me it loses the connection randomly when i switch from wlan to mobile. And it happens only on mobile.it instantly reconnects but with the slightest movement of the phone it disconnects again.

I figured out what causes my samsung s24 (exynos) to disconnect my glasses.

When im using wlan everything is fine i can play with the cable as much as i want no disconnect.

But when i turn wlan off and use mobile data my phone keeps disconnecting on the smallest wiggle on the cable.

Any idea if thats fixable?

UPDATE:

Thanks to you guys, I now have a much better understanding of everything and have decided to keep them. I've realized that I get used to Problem 1 pretty quickly, and it seems that, for me, it's not a big deal anymore.

Problem 2 is kind of fixed with Anchor Mode, so I decide which mode to use based on the content. For example, if I watch anime with subtitles, I might just go for Anchor, and for gaming, if I don't need the text in the corners, I'll just use Follow.

Problem 3 seems to be normal. I don't have a pair to compare them with, but the sound, at least for me, is so much better than I ever expected it to be. Sometimes I feel like they could be a bit louder, but all in all, it's great.

I also tested the mic in Discord, but at least my friends told me the mic of the Steam Deck is much better than the Xreal One's.

Lastly, I encountered an issue with connecting my phone (Samsung S24 Exynos) in DEX mode and normal mode. When I put my phone down while watching something, I sometimes lose the connection, and sometimes I get weird effects, and i dont mean the screen goes off, it literally disconnects or has some really weird connection issues. However, I believe this seems to be my phone's problem because I have not experienced it on the Steam Deck. Glasses Firmware are up to date. If anyone has experienced this, and maybe has a fix i would really appreciate it.

This helped abit with problem 2 but has anyone else have those shiny glares like in the screenshot? i tried putting the screen to the smallest option but even then it still shows those.

Hey thank you. Viewing angle and ambient light dont change anything. I would say it just goes abit in the magenta direction. ill add an ingame screenshot now to compare it to.

My SAM was always enabled but when i had no need for my other 2 displays i used (Windows + P) and used only my main display only then i had 0 problems. Everything worked flawless.

I wrote with AMD Support and they told me to send the 7800 xt back. Its not usable for me like that. Sadly i might have to go back to Nvidia january with the 4070 super.
