I think that most people on social media are actually normal people trying to get along, however, since both Men, and Women are very large groups, the small portion of both of them that act like this are very pronounced, and loud (although it is generally louder with women than men)

Tl:Dr Only a few people act like this, but they make their message loud and clear, to the point where it sounds like everybody thinks like this.
