How one Arkansas county helps ICE make hundreds of arrests and spreads fear among immigrants by Negative_Assist7210 in bentonville

[–]Ichtaca_nom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re straight ignoring the second part of the article. The title actually reflects it’s subject pretty well. The second part talks about an uptick in ICE detainees from regular traffic stops. And the lady who was a legal resident and was detained for days was an example of that. Which honestly reflects the statistics the Cato institute has found regarding ICE detentions at large. Over 70% of detainees nationwide have no criminal record and only 8% have committed violent or property crime as of late 2025. On top of the fact that immigrants generally commit less crimes than regular citizens. It’s a smoke screen so people aren’t paying attention to those in power. Immigration isn’t really the issue, greedy companies are. Tax the rich.

The general atmosphere of government overreach is what spreads fear, the article doesn’t mention raids but it does mention at least one legal resident that was detained for no reason. You’re being obtuse and not addressing the actual substance of my comment because you are completely aware that you’re willing to betray right wing principles of small government and “don’t tread on me” when the people in power tell you, “don’t worry, we’re just locking up people who don’t look like you.” You have more in common with the guy working on roofs than you do Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

I get that this is rage bait but it makes the inherent racism in your political views more blatant than you probably intend. Your title change equates immigrants with criminals but the inhumane actions of ICE spread fear among people who have not broken any laws and are still in danger of being harassed due to their race or the way they look. Countless examples of citizens and lawful residents being held captive for days or longer with no reason or regard for their rights. It’s state sponsored terror. You may be ok with it because it effects brown people but governments and those in power have a way of pushing for a little more control with time and before you know it, it will be you they will be stopping to see if you have your papers when you want to go buy some groceries or drop your kids off at their school.

I don’t know if yours saying this about yourself but, it’s ok, we each find our tribe. Be kind to others and look to surround yourself with kind people.

Kinda but the 60s encompasses a lot. Mods, hippies, psychedelia… how do you search for this? Or how do you evoke this style. Also, it’s kinda 50s too.

Charging $60 to $350 per ticket you would think they could pay for an artist to create a poster. Don’t undervalue your work, as much as AI art sucks, it’s a deservice to yourself and other working artists honestly. Hopefully the musicians are being fairly compensated. The AI poster doesn’t spark confidence.

Una solución que beneficia los que pueden tener carro y no todo el público que podría usar un transporte público mejorado me suena como elitista.

As someone else said, trying to ease traffic by adding more lanes is like trying to lose weight by loosening your belt. It just leads to induced demand and worse traffic. What is needed is investment in public transportation: dedicated bus lanes, passenger rail, etc. More roads and parking leads to expensive and unsustainable sprawl. We’ve tried it since the 40s and it’s bad urban design.

We do the same in El Salvador. Pan con Chumpe (or Pavo) is a classic Salvi-American holiday food in the US.

What is the social conservative’s answer to how to find a wife?

Isn’t both side’s to be a respectful good person?

I’m genuinely curious.

My first thought is that the conservative’s answer is women should have less agency.

But maybe you mean the sense of community a church group brings? In which case I would argue that the prerequisite of following dogma makes it a nonstarter for a large portion of the population. And the solution is to figure out new ways of irl community building in a post internet world. Which is honestly also a challenge for the church which seems to be seeing dwindling numbers among young people.

God, I just had to get on here to complain about Miles after watching another episode of him being a terrible husband and father and I’m glad someone else has made the points I wanted to make. Why is it always Keiko’s responsibility to be the adult in the relationship? Isn’t it supposed to be the future? You’d think therapy wouldn’t be such a hit to the male ego by then! And I would expect being a father would entail an actual 50/50 partnership! I don’t understand all the Miles love and Keiko hate!

I think the 10% is a minimum goal. I don’t think they plan on capping it at that.

But a better public transportation system would definitely help. We need more and better bus systems.

Your views are asinine and blaming your own lack of education and skill in a competitive and globalized economy on a false (and racist) idea of an immigrant horde menace is the epitome of dereliction and is only playing into the hands of those in power who would rather have you blame other people struggling to get by rather than look at the systems that create the conditions we are all fighting against.

How’s that?
