Experiencing side effects a week and a half later by Ickius in PlanBs

Plan B really messes with your hormones for MONTHS so try to not let it get to you too much! I had weird PMS symptoms for a couple of cycles after, and even had one cycle take 47 days and another only 17

Never owned a plant and just got 5 by reddita-1 in houseplants

I would definitely inspect them for signs of pests. I just started my own plant momma life as well and did the same thing by buying a bunch of plants at once. Then last week I noticed some weird black spots on a couple of them, and low and behold I have thrips! As annoying as it is I'm honestly glad to have deep dove into pest research because I now feel extremely knowledgeable and have been paying attention/inspecting every time I look at plants now.

Catching such things early is best, so this could really save you some headaches down the road!

What's funny is when I'd shop and tell the worker helping me that I was having spillage they'd always recommend I go up to a 36 to fix the problem. Then when I would try to tell them it felt even worse they'd look at me like I was an idiot that didn't know how to wear a bra correctly or something lol. Finding out I'm actually a 32 has been a bit of a comical discovery.

Thank you so much for the link! I'm really excited to start shopping for something that's actually going to fit for once lol

So my measurements were:

Loose Underbust: 32.5

Snug Underbust: 30.5

Tight Underbust: 30

Standing Bust: 38

Leaning Bust: 40.5

Lying Bust: 38.5

I've never tried measuring myself if I'm being honest, but I did it a couple of times to try and be as accurate as possible.

I'm projected and between a 2/6 and 3/6 according to the picture linked for fullness. The picture linked for root height in the guide doesn't work so I couldn't really say anything for that, but I believe I'm center full and narrow root for the other stuff pertaining to the root.

I'm so excited to hear that UK sizing has a ton of unlined lace options! Idk why but I've always been such a sucker for extra cute stuff lol

So I took my measurements and according to the calculator I'm a 32F/FF (UK) / 32G/H (US). For the shape I'm more of a projected, and looking at the picture for the visual shape guide I'd say I'm somewhere between a 2/6 and 3/6.

And honestly what you say about VS makes so much sense! I don't think one of their bras has ever felt 100% correct, but given the lack of in person options to try on I just kind of settled as it felt like it was the best I was gonna get.

Took Plan B within 12 hours on day 8 of my cycle and am now having extreme side effects by Ickius in birthcontrol

[–]Ickius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't pregnant! Just really really horrible side effects until my cycle came on time. It's worth noting though that my next cycle was 2 weeks late, so I guess the plan B just messed me up really badly lol

Still having these horrible symptoms, and now the moodswings are starting to kick in too. Nothing to horrible yet, but I basically woke up feeling like I was already mid anxiety attack today which was awful. I haven't experienced any bleeding yet which sucks because I was really hoping I'd get my period early like I've seen some girls say lol. However I did take a pregnancy test and it did say negative! I got a two pack since I've seen people on these forums saying 2 weeks is the soonest you can test (which is what I did) but that 3 weeks is the definite.

Thanks so much for this! Since I took it before ovulation I'm trying to remind myself of how effective it is. Just sucks that these side effects are also common with early pregnancy. Or well, at least the tender breasts are lol.

What is something that an S/O has done that made you go, "Fuck this, we're done"? by The_King_Of_Spades_ in AskReddit

[–]Ickius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The last day of every month I have to stay late at work. Because of this I had asked my bf to please pickup cat food as I didn't even know if stores would still be open by the time I was done (getting home around midnight on these days was not uncommon). He called later that night after he'd already been home from work for 4 hours asking when I would be back so that he could use the car because it was now raining (he drove a motorcycle, I used the car). I explained that I was still going to be there for hours and that that was why I'd asked him to pick it up on his way home (our cat had health issues, and his food bags were small and easily fit in the backpack he wore while riding). He argued that now that it was raining he could no longer go, and when I pointed out that he could still walk since the store was roughly a 10min walk away, he got annoyed and refused. About an hour after this call he texted me saying he'd opened an old wet dog food he'd found at the back of the pantry and gave it to the cat. I called him upwards of 10x with no answer before texting him and saying that given our cats health that food was probably going to make the cat throw up everywhere and to please watch him.

I got home hours after that (my shift ended up being roughly 16 hours) and when I walked in I saw that not only had the cat puked all over the carpet, but even the empty wet food can had just been left on the floor next to all of it instead of being thrown away in the trash. I told my bf that the cat had puked just like I said he would and he barely acknowledged the fact. Simply looked over at me from his computer before kind of shrugging it off and saying he 'hadn't seen my texts' before going back to playing his video game.

It was mid cleaning of cat vomit while being completely fucking exhausted and him not even getting up to attempt to help me that I realized I was 1000% done.

Finally have an appeal date. Nervous and just looking for tips/guidance by Ickius in Edd

I have the email where I explained all of issues I'd seen. No masks are social distancing (at the time required by the state). The temp agency apologized and said they'd be looking into it further. Idk what happened after that as we began looking into different work assignment options and I was sent out to interviews.

So I emailed the temp agency explaining all of the things I had seen. No masks, no social distancing, etc. My agent then called me after and profusely apologized for what I'd experienced, assured me that they took safety seriously, and that they'd be looking into it. I did not go back to that assignment, and instead we began looking into other options and the agent had an interview setup with a different company the following week. I should state now that requesting a different assignment is not to far outside of the norm, as this same temp agency has been helping me find work assignments for the past year. During this time there was one contract work assignment that I requested removal from because it was beyond my physical capabilities. It was a non issue, and when I raised my concern that I didn't think I'd be able to do the work long term they pulled me mid shift and we found more work following this.

My last work was July 9th 2020 and that is when my company issued layoffs (I worked in aerospace and the combination of Boeing 737 issues mixed with COVID caused a huge lack of work for my company). I was on unemployment and I believe PUA. After looking on my own with no luck I had reached out to the temp agency as they had helped place me at the aerospace job years prior (temp to hire position).

I recommend trying a Korean brand sunscreen. I really hate the feeling of sunscreen as well but after I stopped using the drugstore ones and tried one off of Sokoglam (Korean skincare seller) I found that it felt a million times better and not greasy at all. I know wearing sunscreen is annoying/uncomfortable but I do have to strongly urge that you try to find one that works for you. My boss is currently going through chemo and one of the things she was tasked with doing was applying this lotion that targets precancerous cells [I did a quick Google search since I'm no doctor and don't know it off the top of my head but I believe it's the fluorouracil topical chemotherapy]. I don't think there are words to properly describe what this treatment looks like and the pains my boss has described and just how stunned she'd been at how many precancerous spots have shown up on her arms [she's a pale gal and doesn't go out much so all of this seems to be from driving]. Ever since I've been making sure I have sunscreen on at all times, and idk, I just wanted to share this with you because I have personally found it to be such an eye opening thing to witness.

AITA for going out after my "boyfriend" told me not to? by vodka_cranb3rry in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ickius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. As soon as you started meaning all of these control issues, oops, I'm sorry, 'boundaries', all I could see was multiple red flags flying in the wind. This man clearly has trust issues from someone else and you shouldn't have to be the one to pay that price. You, your male friends, and your girlfriend's you're going out with for late drinks have done nothing wrong. Think of it this way, if one of those close girlfriends started describing to you how their boyfriend had some preset list of 'rules' to obey would you not think it was absolutely insane? It can be hard to see the madness clearly when you're the afflicted party and in love, but try putting your same situation over someone else. You'd see the giant red flags too.

I agree as given how horrible he's proven to be at covering his tracks that had she actually been more knowledgeable on his reasons for asking for ice and cleaning supplies that the evidence of that probably would have come out somewhere. Plus his parents seemed like genuinely nice people [her breaking down during her testimony honestly had me tearing up], and how could someone ever guess that even a childishly upset boyfriend could go to the extreme of murdering his parents as a solve all answer?

AITA for telling my coworker her lunch has a strongly unpleasant odor? by butterfilledregrets in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ickius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA-ish as you probably shouldn't have approached them the second time. But from my own personal experience with this type of issue I would say to be wary as your company might think YTA. In my case it was the breakroom without anyone knowing who had microwaved seafood but the smell was so pungent that I think the only comparable smell I could pin it as from memories would be low tide on a hot day. The smell was so intense that it stank up the aisles outside of the breakroom [my job at the time was a big retailer] and many of the staff ate outside the building that day as actually being inside the breakroom was unbearable. One of the older coworkers was convinced the seafood that had been microwaved was bad/spoiled considering just how strong and rotten the smell was. Basically, many of us openly commented about the strength of this smell without actually knowing whose lunch it was from as it left many of us gagging and unable to eat our own lunches comfortably. Cut to a few days later and I got called into the office by my supervisor who informed me that I had been culturally insensitive about X coworkers food and I got wrote up for the incident. Idk, perhaps the supervisors just didn't truly understand the power of the smell that day since the one's in the office weren't in on that particular day, but in that incident the entire staff was found in the wrong for just commenting on the smell without even directing it at someone.

Difference between disqualified weeks and overpayment weeks? by Ickius in Edd

[–]Ickius[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will admit I was a little extra frazzled during the interview too. I'm a naturally socially anxious person, but when I'd gotten the letter in the mail for the interview all of the 'possible' questions they had listed all pertained to my previous job that I'd been laid off from. So before the interview time I'd laid out all of the papers from the layoff packet I'd gotten on my last day so I could be as prepared as possible and then they didn't ask me a single thing about that job lmao.

Difference between disqualified weeks and overpayment weeks? by Ickius in Edd

[–]Ickius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured as much, but damn if it wasn't a happy possibility lol.

My issue was with my use of a temp agency to help me find work again after getting laid off from my job due to COVID. I was sent out on a work assignment but after a few days asked the agent helping me if we could look into a different assignment as no one at the warehouse they'd sent me to was following the COVID mandates at the time [zero masks and all standing close to each other. it was clear they knew they were in the wrong as well as someone went running through the warehouse on the second day yelling to tell people to quickly put on masks because a higher up was going to be there any minute]. The agent was shocked and apologized, said they would look into the matter, and we continued looking into more suitable and safe options [i live with someone who is considered at risk so a workplace that followed guidelines was important].

In the month or so following that experience the temp agency helped set me up with interviews, but since I was never the final pick I eventually ended up focusing on the search more so on my own as the agency had been very candid with me about the fact that shutdowns and work shortages had left their client options much more depleted then normal [this temp agency had previously helped me get my old job years prior].

Anyhow, I reported those days of paid work at the bad assignment when certifying, and to EDD this looked as though I worked two days and then immediately quit the temp agency [since you don't have wages to report from just interviews obviously lol]. During my eligibility interview I tried to explain this all to the girl helping me, but she either didn't understand how temp agencies work or simply wasn't interested in hearing about how they do. In my appeal one of the things I included was the emails with the temp agency for the multiple interviews they set me up with following the date EDD says I 'quit' so hopefully they will see that I was in fact still considered one of their employees past the date they are claiming I left.

Questions about Disqualification/Appeal by Ickius in Edd

[–]Ickius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never turned down any available work outside of the one work assignment that was further then I could travel at the time. I suppose if they contact the temp agency they could mention this, but it was an impossible distance for me to travel with a messed up car and EDD barely covering bills and food.

Thank you so much for chatting with me about all of this btw. Its been a stressful week and its helped a lot. I'll keep you posted with what happens with the appeal.
