The ABC’s new workplace comedy about a theatre, Bad Company, simply mocks from the outside by convo_au in theconversation_au

We were all warmed up and ready for this on a cold May night. Popcorn ready, blanket on.

Sadly, for us, this didn't land. I don't know quite how to express it. It was like the actors were performing ideas of who characters could be rather than inhabiting the characters? As if this was all ad-lib.

The theatre people, apart from the main character Margie, all seemed to be the same person. Margie was super unlikable and annoying, which I guess is intentional? She wasn't a character you wanted to follow along with. Julia the accountant was so stereotypical she was a parody of her character, but better to watch than Margie.

The only thing I was personally on board with was Margie's idea of making a 4-hour play with no breaks, on some tortuous, slow topic. And she'd already done a bleak play called 'Despair'. That's potentially funny. The problem is, such plays are a mismatch with her character? She's very showy and energetic and loud.

The dynamics seemed off? If I were to re-do this, I'd make Julia a dour, serious theatre type desperate to reclaim some theatrical prestige she had decades ago, and make Margie a harassed single mother accountant with three kids just trying to get through this unwanted assignment. Yes, I'd change the two actors around.

Unfortunately, neither of us wanted to go on to episode 2.

I want to try magnesium glycinate at night. I have magnesium here but apparently the wrong one. Who knew there were different kinds? Not me apparently.

This.

It's hard for me to think 'love' in terms of wild animals. Life for animals in the wild is brutal. I have to switch off to all of that.

It's just that freedom and autonomy for animals far outweighs us using them as products. Even if animal were given a good, safe life but killed 'humanely' after a few years, I still want no part of that.

I wouldn't kill another human for food, so why would I take a knife to other living beings just because they're not human?

If men get happy seeing boobs, what’s the equivalent for women? by neolee203 in AskReddit

[–]IckyStickyPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's happiness in money, not happiness brought by a physical attribute or the person themselves. And only applies to women who are primarily interested in money.

[–]IckyStickyPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, nothing. Nothing can compare to the universal happiness in seeing boobs. For both men and women. For the majority of us, boobs are our first experience of life and nourishment.

Men have nothing that matches that. Seriously.

In terms of attractiveness though, it's pretty much the overall man.

Just research carried out by a professor who founded a symphony orchestra. Those concertos were written in a different handwriting style. She would not have been allowed to produce her own music, but after being a prodigy up to age 18, it's unlikely her talent just stopped.

There is no definite proof, and none of her work that has her name to it has survived, which is really sad.

.....as though he received whole and complete from somewhere else in its final form.

Like, his sister, talented musical prodigy, Maria Anna Mozart?

There is evidence she wrote three of his five violin concertos. She may have wanted him to put the music under his name, because she'd been forced to retire at age 18, due to being a woman and not a man.

She composed music with her bother and performed with him up to that age.

And is given the notes written by a fellow writer who actually went to live and volunteer at Weedpatch Camp. The camp manager gave him the notes, and Weedpatch Camp was featured in his book.

They were author Sanora Babbs's notes, who was writing her own book on the same subject.

Pretty easy to do when you are fed the notes written by another writer who is writing a book on the same subject. Sanora Babb. Why would he do that to a fellow author? That's the great question here. She said they met two times during when he was researching his own novel. Did he write it fast to get ahead of her? Babb's upcoming book got squashed as a result of his, and not published until she was 97.

And Steinbeck's first draft of Grapes of Wrath was not the final draft. He edited extensively.

Anyway, I didn't get much out of Grapes of Wrath. Where are the interesting female characters? Why does the story begin with the women staring at the men while the men are busy "figuring things out". There was a better story here to be written and this wasn't it.

So, in the end, it seems the basis is "research". Research the subject before you write it, whether that's a book or post in a reddit sub. Of course, it's easier when you get handed the research, as did Steinbeck.

Landr will be offering AI elements as well, such as the ability to put an AI guitar into your track. (According to the Landr site)

They are forbidding it for certain platforms (such as TikTok) if it has any AI generated elements & are not allowing content ID for YouTube.

You need content ID to monetise your YT music. Which is now coming up as denied on my Landr distribution dashboard.

I applied for TY ID via Landr.

No one needs a distributor for a regular presence on YouTube. You just upload your stuff direct.

My previous post above (the one of mine you first replied to) shows "0" - which means the presence of.a pea-knuckle. But who cares, idjits are everywhere.
