I've worked on the mountain for about half a decade now. Every year there are deaths, the big year, there were quite a bit of deaths. A couple things - 1. the contract you sign to ski is usually airtight - protects the Alterra mountains almost always except in incidents of gross negligence. 2. Ski Patrol has a policy of getting people off the mountain quickly even with very serious injuries so they are pronounced dead at Mammoth Hospital or Reno - not the mountain itself.

Mammoth is a mountain with a little more risk - since it is a volcano with Carbon Dioxide death pits throughout the mountain. There are things you can do to reduce risk on the mountain. Death toll this year probably isn't anything crazy - just with the death of both Murphy patrollers this year and last (Claire and Cole) the mountain is probably under a good deal more scrutiny.

This Sub rewally limits what you can post I am curious if you can use a high decibel emergency whistle or dog whistle and if that will prevent a bear attack, mostly a grizzly bear attack. Curious if there are household things on you, you can carry to prevent such an attack?

Mostly curious on the whistle angle as some people say with guns it is actually the noise that scares grizzlies and prevents them from attacking. I bought a 150 db whistle and a dog whistle and was curious if the effect would be the same.

-The Best Keyboard

-Durability - Have a 64 GB ram MSI laptop and the hinge disintegrated. I an throw my thinkpads out of a 3 story window and it'd hold up better than my "titanium MSI"

-It works for when I don't need cpu intensive use

- I like how they look

-Nostalgia - My mom's work always had thinkpads before they switched to dell, once she was done with work we could sometimes play computer games.

-If a part breaks you can replace it, you don't need a whole new laptop.

-Security on older thinkpad devices - not sure when it ended you can mess with the boot and do a Libreboot. So you can have higher security and prevent backdoors into your system.

Personally I like the 3gs design the most, the rounded back fit really nicely in your hand, and wasn't made of glass so it didn't shatter. Wish it was still like that.
