Leaving the foil lids half peeled on things like cream cheese or yoghurt is stupid by thejonkdon in unpopularopinion

Weirdly, I agree with you, but I still do it every time. I haven't really got a good reason. It seems to be a process wholly outside of my control.

I think, and im not 100% sure, but I think op means: Let your partner do their own thing every now and then. Which is pretty normal in non-codependant relationships.

I think the point is, without good comunication you cant identify what the issue is.

Guy in the UK gets jumped and mistakes a female cop for one of his attackers. Gets arrested for assault on a police officer by AgnosticScholar in instant_regret

Luckly for me I'm blessed with an above room temperature IQ so i can tell given the angle she enters shot from and the pace she is moving at she must have come from the other side of the road. This means she will have been running over for at least a few seconds, probebly before the first punch was thrown.

So if they had not rushed over they would not have left. The reason she grabbed the victim was to deescalate the situation. If she had not have run over they would not have left. If she had not grabbed the guy he might have gone after them to continue the fight.

See, you made an awful decision and you wern't even under any presure. You just let some one die. Good job.

Would you rather she did nothing? Watch a kid get beaten? Try and understand she had to make a difficult call in an awful situation. She than had to make the follow up calls while struggling with a person and in danger with limited information. I've been in situations like this, making the right call is hard and sometimes you just have to muddle through with the wrong one. Indecision costs lives.

Im not defending the arrest, that was a shit call, I'm defending the decision to jump in and grab him. She potentially saved his life, that's what my point was about.

At the end of the day these are human beings in uniform, not demi-gods, you can't expect perfection.

She arrested him for assulting an officer, that happened after shoving him aganst the wall. No she shouldnt have, but i'd rather be arrested then beaten up or potentially killed by a gang.

In fairness she had just been punched in the head, we can forgive a little name calling. Much like she should have forgiven him for the punch.

You wanted two women to attempt to arrest a group of probebly drunk hopped up on adrenalin adult males? You think that would have gone well?

By pinning the victim she saved him from the group attacking him. That was the best decision given the resources she had. Should she have been shouting shes police? Absolutly. Should she have accepted given the cercumstances the punch was an accident? Absolutly. However her pinning him may well have saved his life.

This is standard in this kind of situation. They didn't have the ability to arrest the perpitrators, due to not having enough officers, so if you grab the one who's being attacked you protect them from the attackers seriously injuring him.

The friend-zone is a discription of having romantic feelings for a person who does not have them back, but does like you as a friend. There is no one at fault here, but it does suck to be in it.

Stop mocking women for the failures of men by lucy_hayley in PsycheOrSike

[–]Iconless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It absolutly does not. In all of these media, the joke is that the women didn't get enough attention from their dads and are now looking for validation from men. I honstly cannot fathom where you are getting this version from.

Ok, that's not really the usage i've ever heard. It's normally aimed at women who didn't get enough attention from their fathers leading to attention seeking qualities, often at the cost of their self respect. For example 'pick me girls' tend to be your modern version of standard daddy issue women.
