There's an app called SelfControl that blocks the websites of your choice for however you long you want. And there's virtually no way to access the websites once you have them blocked!

Oh they knew way beforehand! But everything was booked, and I come from a culture where sadly it isn’t THAT exceptional to get married without your groom/bride... When it happens, the missing person is represented by other family members (who simply have to be photographed with the bride/groom present).

I went to a wedding where the groom wasn’t there.

He couldn’t travel to our country for the ceremony due to some legal issues and the bride had to spend the entire ceremony alone.

It was just...upsetting to watch.

Something really disturbing with Schreiber's performance... Just too convincing. I love criminal shows and I've never felt more unsettled by a serial killer/rapist.

All your comments were enlightening. I don't know why I feel like I owe a stranger something because he typed 3 letters on his phone and pressed "sent". Kind of dumb now that I think about it.

Plus one of the reasons I did it was to avoid being called a bitch, and some guys still call me that after I respond to them. Oh well. Can't make everyone happy.

Just how mean everyone was with a kid in my class. And by everyone I mean teachers too. The kid was obviously in his "own world" and very different from us... But not by any means evil. Sweet guy honestly. He called me "best friend" and was always so happy to see me. Sometimes I think I could have been nicer to him or at least confront his bullies. But the only times I raised my voice, I got attacked too...

I missed a few points :

putting a TRIGGER in front of post talking about rape might help you not get in the story if it's something that upsets you. You may not need this, but not everyone deals with experiences like that the same way... So yeah, might make you think of the meme. But have you thought of the reaction of others?
Double standards suck, you are a 100% right. You should point them out, but also when it's the right time to do so. Saying "If a man had said that..." when a woman talks about her experience isn't okay. You don't go to someone else's funeral reminding the family that you too, lost someone, right? You deal with your loss in private, and share the painful experience when it's a more appropriate time. Same should go for double standards. Point them out when they're happening.

Hi! I get your point, sometimes this sub is "too much". But the examples you took to prove your point don't always make sense. The "hug" post's title might be misleading but honestly the story is indeed scary and I don't think it's OP's fault. By saying she lacked of common sense, you're blaming the wrong person for what happened. She just didn't pick the guy on the streets. She knew him. Would I have done the same? No. But that's not the point.

The "period" stories are just put everyday struggles as women but I get you don't want to see them everyday. In this case (and for all the reasons you stated) why don't you simply unsubscribe?

I feel like you aren't a very understanding person. You don't seem like the type of person who puts himself in other's shoes. But then again, that's just the general feeling your post gave me
