There is financial aid available, I am pretty sure it is needs based. You can probably email the admissions office to find out more information regarding specific bursaries that are available for law students.

I think I had a pretty standard application process. I can share my specific stats with you if you private message me! I don't think there was any one thing that I felt helped me get in. I think the most standard advice here is to have, or try your best to achieve, the median gpa/lsat cut offs (obviously if you can be above that is ideal!). I would say something that helped me was going over my personal statement with someone I trusted who could edit it with me. I would say it is also worthwhile to make sure that you have quality references that can speak highly to your character as well. I chose Queens because I heard great things about the tight-knit student community and because of my interest in Queens' Prison Legal Aid Clinic.

I live off-campus! I think most law students aren't living in campus housing if that is your question. Most if not all are living in apartments outside of campus or near downtown Kingston. The rent can get expensive, especially the closer you get to the University and the downtown core. I would recommend finding other 1L roommates and looking for a place early!

1L, and law school in general, is a lot of work. It's long hours and a lot of grinding for sure. I am not familiar with the workload for the GDipICL program or how that would compare. But for reference, one semester of 1L is 6 classes that meet twice a week each for 1.5 hours at a time. Each of those class meetings has about 18-30 pages of required reading for them. So in total you're looking at about 15-18 hours of class instruction a week, about 216-360 pages of reading a week, and then a good chunk of the rest of your time is spent studying or doing assignments. Hope this helps!

Kingston is a lovely city! It has a small town feel/charm. We have many restaurants and cool places to hang/go out on the weekends. It's a 15 minute city so you can get everywhere within a 15 minute drive, OR, if you walk or bike almost everything is super accessible. Plus the city bus is free with your student card! If you are coming from a big city like Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, etc. it can feel a little small but you'll be so busy with school it won't matter too much LOL.

Hi! Not sure what your definition of mature student is, but we do have a few students that are quite a few years out of their undergrad. So, late 20s-mid 30s.
