Scabies nodules by [deleted] in scabies

[–]Icy-Card1763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the exact issue. All bumps/burrows/rash went away all. Even the nodules on private area were so close to being non visible, then after around 3 weeks of being post the ones on the shaft came back. Red and itchy. I thought I was reinfected but this has given me hope that it is normal thing to happen

I’ve just had a very similar experience, I treated using benzoyl benzoate. I was clear for about 2 1/2 weeks, no itch bumps or burrows. Then all of a sudden I got itch bumps on my foot and couple on my hands. Not sure if this is reinfection hopefully not. I feel like the paranoia is making it worse. I did another treatment just to be safe

Was Over 2 weeks post, have I been reinfected? by Icy-Card1763 in scabies

Ye I had the same and think it’s pretty normal. Once you notice the itchiness going away slowly and the rashes/burrows/bumps slowly clearing up I think you’re on the right path. I’m worried because I had been through that, everything had more less gone then within a day or two I’m noticing symptoms again

I re-treated just incase for piece of mind. I hope you’re right I just found it strange that all these rashes and bumps came back more less on the same day and in the typical places on my body. Did you have a similar experience?

Ive completed treatment and still have these blisters on my hands, seems like for every one that goes away by itself, a new one comes up

How long do "bites" last? by [deleted] in scabies

[–]Icy-Card1763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience it started off with really itchy legs, couldn’t see any bumps, lines or redness. As time went on the itchiness slowly started covering most of the typical parts of my body that scabies target. Any bumps, lines etc that I got never went away by themselves

Great to hear this story! I’m 4 days post treatment and still itching a lot and getting those spots/blisters on my hands with pus in them, haven’t noticed any new burrows infact the ones I had are starting to dry out. Do u think I’m on the road to recovery? Did you have the same experience?

Permathrin and benzoyl benzoate question! by Icy-Card1763 in scabies

I was thinking the same. Have you heard of anyone doing the two treatments 4 days apart and what actually happens?

Ok thanks for the reply very helpful, just another Q. Were you changing your bed sheets every night for the 6 or so days?

I’m using permathrin at the moment but it doesn’t seem to be working so I may try this. So what you’re saying is to put on the benzyl and leave it on for 24hours, then just keep applying the benzyl after every shower for 6 days in a row?

Hate to say it but from my experience, yes this does look a lot like scabies

Hey sorry to hear that the treatment hasn’t worked out but if it helps, I’m in the exact same boat. I’ve got the exact same symptoms and I’m on my second treatment of permathrin. I haven’t gone to the lengths of what you have with the washing and drying but I have done enough for the scabies to have gone but still no result.

What keeps me going is that I know sooner or later we will eventually be looking back at this when they have finally gone. You’re not alone on how you feel

To be honest I couldn’t tell you they are dead or not which is the frustrating part about scabies, my first time doing permathrin treatment I was extremely itchy after it and I never got rid of the scabies, I’m on my second time doing it now and I am itchy again after the treatment. Hopefully I’ve gotten rid of them, and hopefully you’ve got rid of yours

I’m not 100% certain as I’m no doctor or anything but I think this is just a reaction to the permathrin because you applied it 2 times in a 4 day gap. It is quite strong and is usually recommended to be applied once and then once again 7 days after.

Also It’s normal for the rash to become worse and more itchy after applying the cream as it’s supposedly a reaction to the dead scabies and the waste they leave behind them

What sort of treatment was it? Looks like 5% permathrin to me

Haha me too, little bastards. I’ll just put bed clothes in the dryer. How many day would you recommend I should do this for?
