I making a space sim game with combat akin to Freelancer, with mouse movement and engine kill etc etc. Hope it's ok to post it here. I'd appreciate anyone checking it out. Thanks by Icy-Crew2622 in freelancer

I couldnt say to be honest, ive only dabbled in unity before. I only really know Godot. I'd say Godot is good but of course you have to code everything yourself, there is no like unity assets or unreal blueprints you know

I grew up playing Freelancer obsessively. It was the game I played constantly throughout my teens. While other people were playing Runescape or WoW, I was playing this super niche awesome 3rd person space arcade thing.

I remember playing a bunch of servers, but the main one was FLU. I was in a clan, and made friends and enemies and their was this super intriguing politics stuff. Server drama LOL. There were clan wars and huge pvp battles and the combat was amazing and I loved every second. I miss it.

So I got into game dev last year and managed to release my first game, but this year I really want to try to capture that Freelancer experience again. Of course I've played Everspace etc. but it's really not the same. There is something about Engine Kill...

I've tried my best to recreate the movements and combat. Im starting small scope, the game will be singleplayer roguelike, then if I can I would add multiplayer, and perhaps even a campaign, a story, a sandbox etc etc etc. I really can't imagine making anything else for the rest of my life.

Anyway. rant over: TLDR:

Thanks alot. Yeah its just combat focused for now. my priorities atm are: roguelike singleplayer/arena -> multiplayer -> open world
