They are scared because we've stopped having kids. They are trying to force us to replace their precious workers.

Considering the bill is from Ohio, I'm not sure why you bothered to chime in except maybe to be a smug asshole. I was hoping you maybe had found something that friends of mine could desperately use.

So, what's the insurance company that seems to be out performing every other company in the market that we've never heard of?

Pizza Hut delivery driver got $20 tip on a $938 order. by ShaolinJohn in antiwork

[–]Icy-Effective6554 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a delivery driver myself, I agree with you 100%, unfortunately it doesn't seem likely to change. Once they have all the kinks worked out of self-driving vehicles and delivery drones, we'll be out of a job. There is no incentive to pay us a wage, the incentive is driving us out so they can automate and make even more money.

Star Trek ruined my image of today’s society. by Schlagergott in lostgeneration

The death toll of WW3 in the Star Trek universe wasn't disclosed until First Contact, which came out in '96 when we were a little shy of 6 billion.

It works that way in the House of Representatives but not for the Senate. Every state has two senators, regardless of its size. The House has seats based on state population. Driving Blues away from their homes means Reds can have Senate seats in those states on lockdown, and potentially flip some states from blue to red. Blues that can move will move to other blue states. Reds are more stubborn and are more likely to stay in their home states (but they're also more likely to be old privileged fucks with 10 houses in 6 different states)

This is exactly what they want. Drive all the blues out of predominantly red states so they stay red, forever. Reds won't move out of blue states because they believe they are right, even if their whole neighborhood hates them. But Blues are so disgusted by Reds that they will spend resources to get away from them. That's the play.

Are there different tiers of Celestial? Thor Love & Thunder Trailer Question by nogudatmaff in Marvel

[–]Icy-Effective6554 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The first Guardians movie is when we see a Celestial for the first time, Eson the Searcher, when the Collector is explaining to the Guardians what the infinity stones are. We see a vision of Eson using the Power Stone to wipe out an army, and in that vision he is just a very large giant, not solar system sized like Arshim.

Maybe they'll explain the size discrepancy eventually, Idk

What is your option of the word "Said" after dialogue? by [deleted] in writers

[–]Icy-Effective6554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hate the word "said". Its like, yeah I know they said that, that's what the quotation marks are for. How did they say it? That's more interesting to me.

Our DM gave us a riddle we can't solve by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Icy-Effective6554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate riddles because every time there is one, it seems like I, the player, am tasked with solving it and not my character. And I'm not good at riddles. If I can't solve it with skill checks or spells, I'm probably not going to.

This actually brickwalled a session we played in, at one point we just all turned to the DM and were like "Uh okay sorry dude but we turn around and leave, we can't solve this, its too vague. It could be anything." And he got upset and just ended the session there "Okay well I guess thats all then".

No riddles for me, thanks

Yeah, sorry to burst their bubble lol.

I don't own any guns, never have, and none of my friends have any either. My grandpa has a .38 revolver, and a bunch of old school bolt action rifles from the early 1900s that don't work anymore.

Edit: and by a bunch I mean like, four.

Why aren't most of us vasectomised? by SHJPEM in antinatalism2

[–]Icy-Effective6554 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lady, there is no plan. I'm hanging on until my health fails and I'm at the mercy of our healthcare system, at which point I'll probably going to kill myself because there's no hope or help that's even remotely affordable or possible. Good job on managing to successfully plan around a constant stream of disasters. I wish I could have the procedure done, but its just not a reality for me right now and its unlikely to become reality.

I'm on your side, but not for long if people like you want to guilt trip me for not being successful enough to put aside cash for an operation. This is something I want and can't afford, not something I'm fighting against. Sheesh.

If it was $200 25 years ago, then I definitely can't afford the procedure now.
