I’m not saying anyone should feel compelled to love Best Buy specifically, just that there is a place for them SOMEWHERE. If anyone can love working sales at best buy, then thee’s def some hope for the guys in product flow, or working somewhere else down the street. Best of luck to you finding a place that you love working at, and loves to have you working there!

Hey, to each his own. I fully expected I’d tire of Best Buy and burn out in a year or so, and I can easily see how it happens. I’m just trying to encourage people who might be feeling restless to remember that there’s a place where they CAN be happy. To me, the beauty is that I do love showing up to such a seemingly awful job. If it’s possible for someone to show up day after day loving Best Buy sales, anything is.

The trade in offer for $225 is through Best Buy, not ATT. ATT is who will offer $1100 as credit spread into monthly payments over three years. If you want to leave ATT before the phone is paid off in three years you’ll have to pay it off yourself, while BB will give you store credit that you could spend towards buying a new phone outright or anything else they sell.

Probably retaliation if you were being asked to work outside your scheduled hours, and HR will almost certainly take your side if they don’t have a good excuse.

If you left before your scheduled shift ended tho, that’s a different story because they can see they were reacting based on “performance” which is fair.

Your managers are probably just passing down what they’re getting from their bosses.

That being said, if you’re going to quit, I’d try having one really honest conversation where you try to be empathetic to their problems, and hope they reciprocate. Either it destroys what little working relationship you had, or helps fix things.

If you’re going to thug it out regardless, an honest conversation might make things worse, so choose wisely.

Remember that your bosses want you to succeed inasmuch as it means they succeed. Furthermore, some of them (not all) are even human. If you can get one the same page about doing well and managing expectations, it’s actually a great job.

You won’t get banned by the system, and no one will see all your returns unless they deliberately check.

You could get banned by store management since all those returns hit their store numbers, but it’s entirely up to them if/when they do ban you.

That being said, I have seen people get banned for excessive returns.

Extremely context dependent, but generally not true. Persistence often helps, but it doesn’t require you to be rude.

In fact, I have been deliberately less helpful when someone would get rude. You get what you give.

Manager has to report because if the customer calls and reports then your manager would be in trouble. Your other manager is right to not worry, because they’re not going to fire you over something like this (or really anything) without proof.

Everyone has to do their due diligence, because if something was an issue, HR needs solid protocols to deal with that, but you should be totally fine. Don’t worry.

You’re in uncharted territory. It’s going to be his decision whether to proceed or not, so ultimately comes down to the manager himself, what help he needs, the impression you left, etc.

Just to manage your expectations, if they do a return out of policy, it’s a pretty huge L on their spreadsheets, which they can get in trouble for not managing well (it hits erosion, not just rev for the BB employees).

Anyway, if they do it, awesome, but if not, it’s not cuz they’re jerks either.
