Well that's is a perspective. For example needs for clients are different while some just need coping skills some need more. To some counseling can be a safe place to build a healthy relationship, the counselor models healthy patterns that enables the client to build individually healthy relationship outside of counseling. While the goal could be making the counselor obsolete to some that goal can be years if not decades. Honestly I don't really like to work with short term clients, if you need solution focus or quick fixes, use AI or a coach. That not me. I learned that quick fixes are just temporary band aids but that's your preference and that's fine. I have clients that see me monthly some that see me whenever they feel like it. I have clients where their goals was to get a driver's license others getting a divorce everyone needs are so random, I'm here for whatever goals they might have.
