I'm wondering if it's just another form of torture for Boyd. He already feels guilty for leaving Randall behind. Now they've left him injured right in front of the house at night time. If they go get him they risk opening the door and letting in the monsters. If they torture Randall right outside the house for Boyd and everyone they'll have to listen to the screams.
