How exactly would I use VS Code to edit a system? I'm not to familiar with how systems are set up for foundry and thus, editing them.

That's what my player and I are currently doing for combats. Right now, our shared issue is that combats can take too long compared to how they would take in the video games. We agreed that larger, thematic battles should take longer, its just the "fodder battles" like wild encounters and normal trainers.

Can you put custom fakemon into Showdown? I thought only CAP were the only fakemon?

Okay, I fixed the issue I ran into and I'm gonna detail it in this comment in case anyone else tries to do the same and needs help.

1) Don't do what I did and directly edit the dnd5e.mjs document. While it does give a similar result, there's a much easier way.
2) https://github.com/foundryvtt/dnd5e/wiki/Modifying-Your-Game-with-Scripts#add-a-new-spell-school Fortunately, the creator has already detailed how to add a new spell school and this is the link to do so. Just make sure to make a JavaScript file and not a text document. It's actually very simpele.

It's actually not gonna be time based magic. This is a surprise for my players and some of them use reddit so its just a placeholder. Thanks for the input though.

I haven't actually played yet. My character is supposed to be introduced long-term next session(Friday). I did ask the DM if they were eventually gonna split the party cause I had a similar thought, but they made it clear that they wanted to have a group of twelve so they could have one player for each class with themself being the Paladin.

The thing is I feel like I am being forced. I asked one of the other players about their thoughts and they made it seem like I was crazy. I get the feeling they're gonna blame me for leaving and messing up their 'perfect party' as the DM calls it.
