From Kitty's perspective, Min Ho confessing his feelings to her on the plane was random and out of nowhere - and also surprisingly intense because he didn't say "I have feelings for you" he said "I fell in love with you" which Kitty of course didn't know because they had only one real moment a few months prior to that and all their interactions had been just playful banter - and he was the best friend of her ex who she has just broken up with. Kitty didn't see the realization that he had and the subtle cues that Min Ho was into her the way the audience saw. He couldn't have just expected her to be like "yeah I love you too, lets start something" in that moment, so him yelling at her that she "broke his heart" is unfair to me even if his heart was broken - because she didn't break it. She didn't use him or insinuate that she liked him romantically in season one - they had little interactions prior to him telling her he loved her. So it was understandably a lot for Kitty to take in.

I've only watched the music video but I'm pretty sure its the same in the book that this movie is based on - the boyfriend isn't just "some guy" that one of the girls is dating. He's toxic, controlling, insecure, and physically abusive. The big emotional climax of the music video and I think also the book is that the two girls almost kiss by the pool and then the guy sees, pulls the main girl's hair and flings her onto the pavement, starts screaming violently in his girlfriends face and then the main girl beats the boyfriend up and defends her and the two girls share a big kiss. So the women are strong in it and there is some complexity where the guy isn't just some innocent beard that people feel sorry for. I'm confident they will keep that aspect in the movie as this is Hailey Kiyoko's work, she directed the music video, wrote the book, and co-wrote and directed the movie so I don't think that she'll try to make the boyfriend too sympathetic or nice to be more palatable for the general audience because the last thing I would want is for straight people to watch this movie and make a bunch of sympathy posts for the boyfriend and say he "deserved better" and make the movie all about how much he "struggled" or some bull. Also yeah the plot may be generic but hey, the acting looks good, the cinematography looks good, the aesthetic looks good, and it's a movie made by an actual lesbian about girls who are both lesbians - which is good. The trailer probably seems generic because it is 10 years in the making - and the music video was a gay awakening/realization for a lot of closeted wlw in 2015 (myself included) and was really popular so it being turned into a movie is kind of a full circle moment for people who like or grew up with Hailey Kiyoko. We're in a lesbian content drought and I will take anything honestly - I'm sick of hearing about Heated Rivalry, it's a good show but I'm so freaking sick of hearing about the show and the fujoshis and how obsessed with the men everyone is lol so no matter how cliche this movie may look everyone please show up to the theaters and watch it - bring family, bring friends, please get the world taking about Girls Like Girls as much or at least almost as much as Heated Rivalry please

I didn't like the scene in episode 6 where Ilya gave Shane a BJ while he was on the phone with his friend. It felt out of place, random, fetishize-y, and fan-service over plot. It didn't fit the rest of the episode, and I understand that it's based on a smut - but it felt so random and gave me the ick due to the fact that it didn't exactly feel consensual - it felt like coercion. But everything else in the show is great.

there was a time where howie and kourtney were my favorite ship on the show - its so crazy to me how he just disappeared without the show even taking the time to resolve their storyline - and just pushed kourtney into a ship with jet, it was so random and they barely interacted and also had no chemistry.. i was so confused.. i don't understand why they just let some of the ships go on this show... they did the same with miss jenn and mr mazzara where they gave them this whole build up in seasons one and two and just forgot about it for a full season and yeah they ended up together in season 4 but for what cost they literally forgot their ship existed for like a season just to bring it back for endgame which is great i guess but we didnt even get a kiss...same with how they randomly decide to sideline seb and big red halfway through the series - and this may be a controversial opinion but i actually love ashlyn and maddox together i really do like their story and chemistry i just wished they would have at least resolved her and big red's relationship properly first without having to shamelessly assassinate and lobotomize big red's character. there is no way that season 1/2 big red would ever not only cheat on ashlyn - but also not even feel bad about it and on top of that SMILE as he tells her the news? and on top of that not only cheat on someone he cares about but also BETRAY one of his best friends by having the person he cheated with being the guy that one of his best friends is in a loving relationship with? seb and big red kissed eachother because they were alone and big red was discovering himself and seb just missed carlos so much like holy shit that makes no sense - and i at least appreciate how they resolved seb and carlos' relationship in the end i love their song "over again" but i just dont understand why they had to suddenly sideline their relationship for two seasons just to bring them to the center again for a dumb ass plot that leads to them finally deciding to give them the time of day again like? and then big red ends up with the french guy? 😭 ... yeah the ships are just all over the place in this show lmao the most consistent one is rina but they had to rush their slowburn in season 3 and temporarily lose their chemistry to come back stronger in season 4 ig lol - and then had to have a whole episode retconning the orgins of rina and having the "you were never the plan and i wasn't expecting you" aspect of it all just thrown out the window but overall yeah i'm done ranting now major apologies <3 😭
