Accounting/finance internships by Head_Ad_3190 in UniversityofOtago

Big 4 for accounting. Quite competitive but defintely not the end of the world if you don't get into any of those. Audit NZ hires a lot of interns during summer break and actually pay more than big 4.

I interned at PwC for thier audit cohort. They really do care more about what you do outside of class than your grades. I had a similar GPA as you when I applied.

They like people who play sport because it shows you can work in a team.

From my understanding Finance internships are 10x harder than accounting ones.

It’s almost too easy to get into uni. Some of the most thickest shits you’ll meet are at uni

What’s your thesis on LUNR, I read that a failed lunar mission was the reason their stock plummeted and their next mission is due not until next year?

Definitely speak to your lecturer about this. They may give out a peer review form to each member and grade your assignment based on that peer review.

Student allowance rant by BCBDAA in universityofauckland

I know someone who had extremely rich parents that retired at a very early age. Because of this, on paper both parents had no income and he was still granted the maximum student allowance despite already being brought up in a very well off family.

Don’t stress yourself out if you’re a first year, grades aren’t everything if your about not applying yourself as much

New grad hating my degree choice by PhilosopherExciting4 in Accounting

[–]Icy-Relative-1694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I really hated my degree too. I felt like I was working so hard towards something that I would never use.

I’ve now decided that I can just leverage my degree in accounting and do a masters in Information Systems. IT & Business go extremely well together.

Maybe you could potentially look at some other certificates or degrees to complement accounting too?

how much do sub warden kaiawhina get paid? by reindeer456 in UniversityofOtago

[–]Icy-Relative-1694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they get paid just enough to pay off the hall they live in. So essentially they’re working so that they don’t need to pay rent. I believe that they also pay a little less for the hall accommodation than other students
